Elmer Horst, pastor of the Fishburn Church, Hershey, enter- tained the group with hymns and Christmas carols played on cow bells and a musical saw. The group had a carol sing directed by Ben Weaver. Rev. Horst, who offered the invocation, also pre- sented the Christmas Story through the use of puppets. Marietta Senior League holds Christmas party Mrs. Paul Portner, pres- “ident of the organization, presented poinsettias to the Rev. and Mrs. Horst, and each officer and committee chairman of the senior league. McNair, PP&L’s vice presi- dent of Consumer & Com- munity Services. PP&L is requesting that its customers use miniature indoor tree lights instead of high-wattage flood and light bulbs. Customers are also asked to use miniature lights or candlestick-style lights placed inside windows instead of outdoor lighting and to limit the light-burn- ing time on all decorations. McNair said PP&L en- courages municipalities and commercial building owners to use modest outdoor displays, avoiding flood lights. Confining lights to a single display is one way to keep energy use to a minimum, McNair sug- gests. In keeping with energy conservation guidelines es- tablished in 1973, PP&L will use no holiday decorative lighting at any of its buildings. ‘“The long-term implica- tions of the energy crisis make certain modifications inevitable in areas such as holiday lighting,”” McNair said. ‘‘Each kilowatt-hour of electric energy used re- quires the use of natural resources that may not then be available for some other more essential use in our economy. “With some modifica- tions, it is still possible for Americans to enjoy holiday traditions such as decorative lighting while being re- sponsible in energy use,” McNair said.
