He shares games and toys and helps his friends when- ever he can. He enjoys riding his bike safely and helping his younger sister. Matt also helps his mother so that she can study her college assignments. The Joseph Stradlings are married fifty years Mr. and Mrs. Joseph S. Stradling, 267 Park Avenue, Mount Joy, were honored by a family dinner Saturday evening at Three Center Square, Maytown, and a surprise card shower, given by their children in celebra- tion of their golden wedding anniversary. The couple was married on November 29, 1930, in the Bensalem Methodist Church, Bensalem, PA., by the late Rev. W. H. Williams. They are the parents of two children, Lt. Col. J. Wayne, Marietta, Ga., and Elizabeth, wife of James Sarbaugh, Mount Joy. They have four grandchildren. The Stradlings are mem- bers of Chiques United Methodist Church. Mr. Stradling is a member of the Mount Joy Lions Club. He has been a Lions Club member for the last 41 years. He is also a member of Lodge #427, F. & A.M. Mr. and Mrs. Stradling are natives of Langhorne, Bucks County, Pa., where they were farmers and also owned an Allis Chalmers tractor agency. In 1955 they moved to Maryland, where they were the owners and managers of Temco Parts Co., Chestertown, Md., until their retirement in 1973. They moved to Mount Joy in 1978. Former Marietta res. wins pageant trophy Amy Louise Showalter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clayton H. Showalter Jr., former residents of Mariet- ta, won the ‘‘Miss Con- geniality’’ trophy at the 26th annual Miss Solanco Pag- eant. The event, sponsored by the school, was held at Solanco High School last Saturday night. Winner of the contest was Mary Ellen Lindecamp.
