SUSQUEHANNA Vol. 80, No. 48, December 3, 1980 EE ad Drawing by Linda Ross 1) Marietta Candlelight Tour The Marietta Restoration Associates will conduct their 15th annual Christmas Can- dlelight Tour this Sunday, December 7, from 2 to 7 pm. The tour, one of the largest in the area, includes private homes as well as non- residential buildings. The emphasis on this season’s tour is the adapting of old buildings for modern usage. A special feature of the day’s festivities is the Kingsford Consort, a mus- ical ensemble featuring period selections from Me- dieval to Baroque played on antique instruments at the Union Meeting House on North Waterford Avenue. Concerts will be at 3 and S pm. An Associates’ produced slide show will be shown continuously on the second floor of the Community House. Many shops and restaur- ants in the town will be open this Sunday in conjunction with the tour. See page S advertisements. Lunch will be served at the Marietta Fire Hall, North Waterford Avenue, for $2.50. The Diane and Roger Jackson Home was built one hundred and thirty years ago by Henry Musselman, a local ironmaster, as his second home. The present owners are the fifth family to occupy this large, stately residence. The white brick facade is accentuated by ornate ironwork. Interior shutters and dog-eared windows add charm to the family antiques. The Carroll’s Home, lo- cated at 467 East Market Street, has come back to life after being vacant for more than twenty years. A major addition has been added to the east side of the frame house. Keeping to the original structure, an open beam ceiling highlights the living-dining room in the new addition. The bathroom has a copper bathtub, slate floor, marble sink top and original brass fixtures. Susquehanna Times & The Mount Joy Bulletin MARIETTA & MOUNT JOY, PA.
