Species on which the season opens on November 1st include cottontail rabbits and ringneck pheasants, wild turkeys and bobwhite quail. The following are the daily and possession limits for small game species during the regular season: Cottontail rabbits—A limit of four per hunter per day and eight in possession; Ringneck pheasants—Daily limit is two, with a possession limit of four; Wild turkey—A limit of one per hunter for the fall hunting season; Bobwhite quail—A daily limit of four, with eight in the possession of a hunter. Regular small game sea- son for rabbits and phea- sants and squirrel and grouse will close on Sat., Nov. 29th. Quail will have a season of only one week, ending Sat., Nov. 8th. Fishermen and boaters are reminded by the Penn- sylvania Fish Commission to observe the ban against smoking and building of open fires. The ban, which applies to large areas throughout the eastern half of the State, was issued by the Pennsylvania Depart- ment of Environmental Resources and the Game Commission and went into effect October 22nd due to extreme dryness of forests and fields.
