Presi- dent Doris Landers con- ducted the meeting. Gail Huff will serve as club treasurer for the remainder of the 1980-81 year, due to the resignation of Pat Neher. Other officers for the year are: Tia Guinivan, first vice president; Debbie Wilbert, second vice president; and Becky Strambaugh, sec- retary. DHS senior o take part in seminar Donegal senior Ruthellen McMartin has been selected as a participant in the Pennsylvania Junior Science and Humanties Symposium to be held on the Penn State University campus at State College, November 2-4. Participants will be - housed at the Nittany Lion Inn on the campus. Ruthellen is the daughter of the Rev. and Mrs. Duncan K. McMartin, 801 Harvestview North, Mount Joy. The symposium is con- ducted by the Penn State - University in cooperation with the U.S. Army Re- . search Office, The Academy of Applied Science, The Alcoa Foundation, Corning Glass Works, Bell Tele- phone of Penna. and HRB- Singer, Inc. Objectives of the program are to: Promote study and exper- imentation at the high school level and their applications; to emphasize the role of science and humanities in the national culture; to search out talented youth and their teachers; and to provide understanding and rein- . forcement of the concept ‘that science and technology ‘are servants of mankind. The program will consist of lectures by science staff persons from Penn State and visiting scientists, pre- sentation of scientific papers by participating students, tours and social events.
