Fire Chief Eppley visits Riverview Volunteer members of the Marietta Pioneer Fire Co. held a fire equipment demonstration for the kin- dergarten and interim class- es of Riverview Elementary School Monday morning. The demonstration was part of National Fire Prevention Week. Afternoon activities in- cluded “Do and Don’t” instructions, a display of equipment and a talk on fire prevention for grades one through six. Marietta Fire Chief Barry Eppley coordinated the program. Judges had a difficult time keeping track of the contestants. The racing numbers, draped around the goats’ necks had, in many cases, been nibbled into shreds. Cub Pack 136 Mount Joy’s Cub Pack #136 recently took a 12 mile hike at Mt. Gretna under the leadership of Robert Mark. Other leaders were Ann Mark, Kevin Mark, Bryan Mark, John Auker, Vaughn Mark, Swayne Jenkins, Christine Lehman, Loretto Dimeler and Nancy Turpin.
