Photo shows the new addition of the Congregatjonal Bible Church, Marietta New sanctuary and Christian Education Building The Congregational Bible Church, Rt. 441 By-Pass, Marietta, will dedicate its newly constructed sanctuary and renovated Christian Education Building with special Dedication Services and a Bible Conference October 1-5. In less than three decades the congregation has out- grown its facilities three times. In 1964 the congrega- tion procured ten acres of land and built a sanctuary seating 400 people. The new building has a sanctuary with a seating capacity of 700, together with a large narthex, offices and additional rooms. The renovation of the old building provides nearly 4,000 square feet of addi- tional Sunday School space. The general contractor for these new facilities was H.W. Nauman and Son, Lancaster. Building com- mittee chairman was Clifford G. Miller, and Lloyd Pickell served as finance committee chairman. Rev. John S. Hiestand served the congregation as its first pastor. After his retirement, the church was pastored by Rev. Leonard Anderson, Rev. James W. Reapsome and Rev. Robert Willey. The program of the church includes regular Sunday morning Sunday School and worship ser- vices, Sunday evening ser- vices, and Wednesday night Bible studies and prayer meeting with classes for all ages. The church has a regular community outreach pro- gram through door-to-door . visitation and a ministry to the youth at Market Street Youth Center, under the leadership of Gary Newton. The church has sent out and supports a number of foreign and home mission- aries. The following guest speakers will be serving in the Conference and Dedica- tion Services: Dr. Harold L. Longe- necker, a charter member and former Youth Director of the church, and now pastor of Des Plains Bible Church, Des Plains, Illinois, will speak Wednesday and Thursday evenings. Rev. Dennis Hollinger, the first Youth Pastor of the church and now an assistant professor of Church and Society at Alliance Theolog- ical Seminary, Nyack, N.Y., will speak Friday evening. Rev. James W. Reap- some, who served as pastor of the church for seven years and is presently managing editor of Christianity Today in Wheaton, Illinois, will speak Saturday evening and Sunday morning. The Dedication Service for the new sanctuary and the Christian Education building will be held Sunday afternoon. Rev. Robert Willey, assistant professor, | of Congregational Bible Church to be dedicated Department of Bible, Lan- caster Bible College and former interim pastor of the church, will bring the Dedicatory sermon. An evening of sacred music will conclude the series of meetings on Sunday. Evening services will be held at 7:30 and Sunday services at 10:30 and 2:30. The public is invited to attend the services and view the new facilities.
