The Seminar is sponsored by Lutherans for Spiritual Re- newal, an organization ded- icated to helping Lutherans come alive with their faith. Everyone is welcome to attend. Nursery care for pre- school children will be available from 2:30 to 4:00 pm and for the Worship Service at 7:00 pm. There is no registration fee. All Seminar costs will be met through (faith offerings. Further inform- ation may be obtained by calling 898-8336. Goat race! The town of Falmouth will hold a goat race to benefit the Bainbridge Fire Co., Saturday, Oct. 4th, at 2PM. Registration must be com- pleted by 1:30PM, and there will be an entry fee charged. There will be a food stand by Falmouth Church with sandwiches and baked goods available. Goat milk - products and goat milk will also be available. A panel of judges will determine the winners of the following categories: Most pleasing personality, Prettiest, Ugliest, Tallest, and the Shortest. There will be 3 separate races—100 yard dash, Around the block, and harness to cart. Glenn Hipple is the official Grand Scapegoat Chairman of the event. Following an invocation by Dr. Ezra Ranck, cake and coffee were served. President Joe Shaeffer called the meeting to order with the pledge of allegiance to the flag. The secretary’s report was presented by Teressa Heisey and the treasurer’s report by Al- meda Hostetter. Birthdays and anniver- saries were observed, and guests were introduced. Minnie Tucker of the Sunshine Committee re- ported three cards sent to shut-ins. The next meeting will be held October 13, beginning at 1:00 pm, with entertain- ment by the Elizabethtown Kitchen Band. Hostesses for the October meeting are Melva: Zink, Lois Zettle- moyer, Esther Asper, Elsie Bentzel, Anna Zerphey, Verna Brandt, Ethel Brand, Ruth Brandt, Thelma Brawn and Sadie Breneman. Greet- ers are Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Ginder. Two bus trips were taken by the club recently. Eighty members took the Lancaster County tour with John and Ethel Herr serving as guides. 78 members took a tour of the Naval Academy, Annapolis, while Ethel Herr served as the guide. The members also took a boat ride and had dinner in Annapolis. Another bus trip is being planned for the Poconos on October 16. Members will be asked to sign up for the trip at the October meeting. The cost will be $9.50 each, and stops will be made for lunch. A trip to Longwood Gardens is being planned for the beginning of Decem- ber. A Christmas party will be held at Hostetter’s on December 15.
