The Rev. Robert T. Zuch,
pastor of Faith United
Lutheran Parish, Claysburg,
Pa., will be the speaker for
the Homecoming activities
to be held at Marietta’s Zion
Evangelical Lutheran
Church on Sunday, Septem-
ber 28, at 10:45 am.
The event is in celebration
of the 125th anniversary of
the congregation’s indepen-
dent inception.
A reunion of former choir
members and current choir
members will take place at
the same time. The group
will join in singing the
hymn “‘Great God and God
of Our Salvation,’’ under the
direction of Mrs. Wiliam
Rudy.
A covered dish social will
follow the service in the
fellowship hall.
Rev. Zuch, a Marietta
native, graduated from
Marietta High School,
Franklin and Marshall Col-
lege, and the Lutheran
Theological Seminary, Phil-
adelphia. He did graduate
work in history at Lehigh
University, receiving a Mas-
ter of Arts degree in 1964.
Rev. Zuch served as
instructor of history at
Mubhlenburg College, Allen-
town, and Kutztown State
College. He has served as
Dean of the West Berks
District and chairman of the
parish education committee
of the Northeastern Penn-
sylvania Synod. In 1968 he
was a delegate to the
Lutheran Church in America
Convention in Atlanta,
Georgia.
He is married to the
former Muriel Brunt, a
native of England, and the
couple has five children:
Daphne, Rachel, Naomi,
Gregory and Leah.
The Rev. Philip Lynch is
the current pastor of Zion
Lutheran Church.
The public is invited to
attend the service.
