The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Josef Portner, 25 Essex Street, Marietta. She graduated from Donegal High School and Willow Street Vo-Tech School in 1978. She is employed with the Depart- ment of Public Welfare, Bureau of Operations, Mid- dletown. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard E. Brocious, Mount Pleasant Road, R.D.#2, Mount Joy. He graduated from Donegal High School in 1977 and is employed with Mold Base Industries, Inc., Harrisburg. Given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore a full-length raised waist gown of chiffon over taffeta, styled with a circular skirt edged with a ruffle. The bodice of the gown had a high neckline and the long sleeves ended in a ruffled cuff. Both the bodice and the skirt were appliqued with Venice lace. Her Cathedral length veil fell from a Camelot cap ap- liqued with matching lace. She carried a cascading bouquet of white roses and stephanotis. Miss Patty Sheetz, Mount Joy, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were: Linda Valle, Mount Joy; Kim Underkoffler, Mount Joy; Kim McKain, cousin of the bride, Marietta; Susan Broc- ious and Jill Brocious, sisters of the groom, Mount Joy. Also planned are the resurfacing of the park’s tennis courts and minor repairs using federal matching funds. $8,000 have already been allocated by council and plans to file an application with the Department of Community Affairs for the work are underway. An amendment to the no burning ordinance is being considered by council due to the rising costs of trash removal. Council may approve the burning of leaves only from October 1 to December 31, from 8 am to S pm daily, at a designated site. Adult at- tendance would be required for burning. The property committee was instructed to locate a used car for municipal use. A PennDOT offer for reimbursement for snow removal on state owned roads in the borough was rejected. Council authorized the mayor to negotiate a multi- year contract with the police chief. Council expressed thanks to William Breckline and CETA workers for work performed on summer pro- jects and to Stadel Ford- Volvo for a rental car provision while the borough cruiser was being repaired.
