Mr. Gantz received several distin- guished honors. He was inducted into BETA GAM- MA SIGMA, the national business honorary. He was also inducted into PI ALPHA ALPHA, the nation- al public affairs and public administration honor soci- ety. Mr. Gantz was also honored with the prestigious GOVERNOR’S AWARD IN PUBLIC ADMINISTRA- TION. The Governor's A- ward in Public Admiuistra- tion is awarded by the Governor of the State of Colorado (Governor Richard Lamm) to the graduate student in public adminis- tration with the highest overall grade point average. While at the University of Denver, Harvey served as the administrative assistant to the Director of - the Executive Management MPA program and was instrumental in the growth and development of that program which began in January of 1979. Also while at D.U., Mr. Gantz interned with the Mountain Plains Federal Regional Council and there he authored an original document which dealt with the process of and probable impacts from oil and gas exploration. The document entitled, ‘‘A Lay- men’s Guide to Oil and Gas Development’’, is part of a federal government effort to help energy impacted areas cope with the concerns involved with energy- related growth. The docu- ment was published and distributed to county and local officials of federal region VIII (Montana, North and South Dakota, Colora- do, Wyoming and Utah). Harvey Gantz, Jr., is a December 1978 graduate of Eastern College, St. Davids, Pennsylvania. He is a 1975 alumnus of Columbia High School, Columbia, Pa. Har- vey is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Gantz, Sr., 306 Perry Street, Columbia, Pennsylvania. Beginning June 9th, Mr. - Gantz will accept a position as consultant to the Environ- mental Data Processing Center of the Denver region office of the U.S. Depart- ment of the Interior. Obituaries EVALYN BATES Mrs. Evalyn Bates, 62, a Mount Joy native, died in Halifax Hospital, Daytona Beach, Fla., after a lengthy illness. She was the widow of Alfred P. Bates. Born in Mount Joy Town Township, she was the daughter of Harvey B. and Irene A. Kirchoff Eshleman, Elizabethtown. She was retired from Donegal In- dustries, Mount Joy, in 1973. In addition to her parents, she is survived by two sons: Alfred Ronald Bates, Bun- nell, Fla., and Perry Calvin Bates, Shiremanstown; four grandchildren; two great- grandchildren; and one brother, Havey K. Eshle- man, Elizabethtown. MRS. OMAR G. GROFF Mrs. Caroline S. Groff, 62, died at Lankenau Hospital, Philadelphia. She had been under the care of a doctor. She resided at 214 Frederick St., Mount Joy. Retired from the New Standard Corp., Mount Joy, she was a member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, the Florin Fire Company’s Ladies Auxili- ary, and Friendship Fire Company No. 1's Ladies Auxiliary. The wife of Omar G. Groff, she was born in Mount Joy, a daughter of the late Frederic and Annie Watson Schneider. Surviving in addition to her husband are a son, Charles O. Groff, Mount Joy R1; two brothers, James M. Schneider, Mount Joy, and Claude Schneider, Lancas- ter; two sisters, Audrey R., wife of Alvin N. Collins, Mount Joy, and Florence, wife of Robert M. Kling, Mount Joy; and three granddaughters. FULLER MORLEY SR. Fuller Morley Sr., 73, Bainbridge, died at the Hershey Medical Center. He was retired from the former Olmsted Air Force Base, Middletown, and a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose 410, Middle- town. June 18, 1980 He is survived by his wife, Mary L., and four children: Fuller Morley Jr., Bain- bridge; John E. Morley, Tucson, Ariz.; Elaine Gray- bill, and Mary Krodel, both of Middletown; 11 grand- children and 1 great-grand- child. He is also survived by one brother, Dwight, Tampa, Fla.; four sisters, Anna R.
