Correction Tamela Jo Stephens The Susquehanna Times ran an ad congratulating the graduating seniors from Donegal High School last week. The photograph of Tamela Jo Stephens had the incorrect caption, reading T. Shephens. We apologize to Miss Stephens for this JS error. : The same contractor has been engaged to make these changes. In the future, a full-time staff will operate the center for the benefit of area youth. “Youth councils will super- vise the teenagers’ activi- ties,”” said Harvey Reem, past president of the Jaycees and a member of the Marietta Trust. The Marietta Youth Ath- letic Association has pro- posed winter basketball and wrestling programs. The YMCA and YWCA have inquired about the possibility of setting up social, educational, and recreational courses. The center has a gov- erning board called the Marietta Trust, set up by the Jaycees to oversee the structure’s conversion to a recreation center. In the future, the board may include representatives of many area organizations, but it is presently composed of Jaycees. The school committee includes John Spickler (coordinator), Rick Sload, Harveys Reem, William Sload, James Wise, Richard Sipe and Don Pickle. They plan to meet with the Marietta Area Business Association, the public, borough officials, the police department, and church officials, to explain their plans. : Another phase of renova- tions is tentatively planned for next year. The Jaycees will request $66,000 to turn the original structure into either a sports facility or senior citizen headquarters. Eventually, they would like to build a community swimming pool in the west side parking lot, plus locker rooms near the pool. The Jaycees have in- vested countless hours of work and planning in this project, and are justifiably proud of the way things are turning out.
