Zion United Church of Christ holds mother/daughter banquet The celebration of Mother’s Day was enjoyable for the women and girls of Zion United Church of Christ, who attended a mother-daughter banquet Saturday evening, in the social hall of the church. After a delicious dinner, a beauty contest of small girls was held. The ladies acted as judges, and chose Tammy Sload as Wee Miss winner. Alison Drager was named Little Miss and Stacey Nein won Junior Miss. The girls modeled bathing suits and evening gowns, and displayed various talents. “Tilly,” played by Pat Kunkle, crowned the win- ners. Following the pageant, the girls dressed in the national costumes of many lands, and paraded about to the tune of ‘‘It’s a Small World,”’ during which time they distributed small pack- ages of goodies.
