Marietta, was selected for
the Dean’s List at the United
States Coast Guard Acade-
my, New London, Conn.
The Dean’s List honors
cadets who achieve an
academic average of at least
3.15 of a possible 4.0. In
addition to attaining the
overall average, grades of
“C” or higher must be
achieved in all courses.
Good is a 1978 graduate of
Conestoga Valley High
School, Lancaster, PA.

Seven students from
Donegal High School par-
ticipated in the second
annual ‘“‘Search for Ex-
cellence’’ student recruit-
ment program at Millers-
ville State College March
26.
The seven students were
selected to participate based
on their high school class
ranking and their potential
for college level work.
The program introduces,
Millersville’s offerings to
top caliber academic stu-
dents from throughout the
county and enable those
who apply to MSC to be
eligible for ten $200 acade-
mic scholarships.
The seven students par-
ticipating from Donegal are:
Brenda Hershey, Marietta,
Sherry Derr and Donna Hay,
Maytown, and Maxine Max-
well, Joyce Darkey, Timothy
Milovich and Susan Klep-
per, all of Mount Joy.
Banquet contributors missed
Last week’s article on the
Girls’ basketball banquet
did not contain the names of
several groups who helped
to contribute trophies and
gifts.
Those omitted were: Groff
and White, Donegal Mutual
Insurance Co., National
Standard, Kinsey’s Archery
and Hershey Brothers.

Hershey Symphony Orchestra
will conduct a Talent Search
The Hershey Symphony
Orchestra, under the direct:
ion of Dr. John F. Harrison,
announced a Talent Search
to take place on Saturday,
May 31, 1980 at the Hershey
Educational and Cultural
Center, Hershey. The pur-
pose of the Search is to
select two soloists for the
1980-1981 concert season.
Instrumentalists who play
either a brass instrument,
viola, cello, or string bass
are invited to audition.
Participants are required to
prepare at least one move-
ment from a concerto in the
standard orchestral reper-
toire. They must provide the
judges with at least one copy
of the music and bring their
own accompanists.
Judges will be the music
director, first chair orches-
tra members and members
of the Orchestra’s Board of
Directors. Participants will
be evaluated and they will
be contacted at a later time
with the results. No results
will be available on the day
of the audition.
To participate, send you
name, address, phone num-
ber, and the name(s) or the
work(s) prepared to: The
Hershey Symphony Orches-
tra Society, P.O. Box 93,
Hershey, PA 17033. Each
participant will be contacted
with an individual time to
audition. No applications
will be accepted after May
10, 1980.
April 11 and 12
rummage sale
at Zion UCC
A rummage and bake sale
sponsored by the Women’s
Guild of Zion United Church
of Christ, Waterford Ave.,
Marietta, will be held Friday
and Saturday, April 11 and
12.
The Friday benefit will
have old and new items for
sale including clothing,
household and personal
second-hand merchandise.
Pat Kunkle and Jean
Prescott are co-chairpersons
for the sale. The sale will
run from 9 am until 6 pm.
A food sale will be held in
conjunction with Saturday's
rummage sale. Carol Drager
and Eunice Rex will super-
vise the food sale which will
run from 9 am until noon.
The benefit has been
rescheduled due to the
weather.
