AUGUSTA R. DENNEY
Mrs. Augusta R. Denney
of 227 Cherry St., Columbia,
died at the Rosswell Park
Memorial Hospital, Buffalo,
N.Y., after an illness of
several months. She was 57.
The wife of John D.
Denney, she was born in
Rowenna. She was the
daughter of the late Oscar
and Minnie Wolfe Rannels.
Mrs. Denney was a
graduate of East Donegal
High School and West
Chester State College. She
had been a physical educa-
tion teacher in the New
Cumberland and Wyomiss-
ing school districts. She was
also associated with her
husband in the general
insurance business.
Mrs. Denney was a
member of St. Paul's
Episcopal Church in Colum-
bia, the Reading chapter of
the Order of the Easter Star
and a past Bethel Guardian
of Jobs Daughters.
Besides her husband, she
is survived by: a daughter,
Anne, wife of Daniel
Guthrie, York; one sister,
Harriet, wife of Thomas M.
Bank, Lancaster; and three
brothers, Dr. Darwin W.
Rannels, Danvill, Ill., Dr.
Herman Rannels, Rowenna,
and Morris Rannels, Clear-
water, Fla.
MABEL G. DERR
Mabel G. Derr, 78, of 929
W. Main St., Mount Joy,
died at the St. Joseph
Hospital where she had
been a patient for the past
five weeks.
The wife of Harry E. Derr,
she was a member of God's
Missionary Church, Sa-
lunga.
Mrs. Derr was born in
Milton Grove, the daughter
of the late Samuel G. and
Barbara Gibble Hoffman.
Besides her husband, she
is surved by the following
children: Charles F., Holt-
wood R1; Carl H., Eljza-
bethtown R3; Harry H.,
Mount Joy; Wilbert H.,
Lancaster; Grace, wife of
David R. Espenshade, Mid-
dletown; Pauline, wife of
Jackson D. Metheny, Mount
Joy; and Doris, wife of Lloyd
H. Kreider, New Providence
R1.
Also surviving are. 21
grandchildren, 19 great-
grandchildren, and a broth-
er, Paul G. Hoffman,
Anaheim, Calif.
EUGENE EBY
Eugene Eby, 33, of
Hagerstown, Md., died in
the George Washinton Uni-
versity Hosptial, Washing-
ton, after a short illness.
He was the husband of
Nancy Gable Eby, formerly
of Marietta R1.
Surviving besides his wife
are his parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Lewis Eby Sr., Hagers-
town, Md; two children,
Melissa and Steven, both at
home; and a number of
brothers and sisters.
ELAM Y. HORST
Elam Y. Horst, formerly
of Marietta R1, died at the
Mennonite Home, Lancas-
ter. He was 8S.
He was the husband of
the late Maude Portner
Horst and a member of the
United Zion Church, Eliza-
bethtown.
He was born in Mount Joy
Township, the son of the
late James E. and Lizzie
Young Horst.
He was retired from the
former Bachman’s Choco-
late Co., Mount Joy, where
he was.a boiler operator.
Surviving are three sons:
Lloyd K., Oxford; Benjamin
C., Largo, Fla.; and James
E.. East Petersburg.
Also surviving are eight
grandchildren; seven great-
grandchildren; a sister,
Mrs. Laura Engle, Eliz-
abethtown RS; and two
brothers, Abram Horst,
Elizabethtown R4, and Ar-
thur Horst, Elizabethtown
RS.
JAMES A. MALLINSON
James A. Mallinson Sr.,
formerly of Mount Joy RI,
died at his home, Sunset
Estates, New Providence.
He was S1 and had been ill
for some time.
He was the husband of
w Geraldine. Sigle ‘Wipprecht.
Mallinson. He was also the
husband of the late Barbara
M. Musselman.
He served in the U.S.
Navy for 23 years and, as a
recruiter, had encouraged
hundreds of local youths to
pursue a military career. He
retired in 1968 as a Senior
Chief Boatswains Mate.
Mr. Mallinson served in
the Korean Conflict. Since
his retirement, he had been
employed by Lancaster
Building Supply.

was the son of the late
Howatt and Beatrice
Schroeder Mallinson. He
was a member of Faith Re-
formed Presbyterian Church
in Quarryville.
In addition to his. wife,

an; Roy D., Lancaster; Jill,
wife of Randy Griffis,
Missouri; Phillip R.. Mount
Joy; and Jody, at home;
step-children, William G.
Wipprecht, Strasburg; Lin-
da, wife of Harry Shenk,
Lancaster; Kim, wife of
Dennis Nauman, Lancaster
R6; Bruce Wipprecht, of
Lancaster; four grandchild-
ren; five step-grandchild-
ren; a brother, the Rev.
Howett Mallinson, Virginia;
and two sisters, Helen, wife
of Emil Peterson, Long
Island, N.Y., and Florence
Morrow, Florida.
LEWIS MORROW
Lewis E. Morrow, S1, 169
W. Market St., Marietta,
died at his residence. He
had been under the care of a
physician, but death was
unexpected.
The husband of Beatrice
Sholly Morrow, he was born
in Wrightsville. He was a
son of the late Clarence L.
and Sarah Scantling Mor-
row.
A cutter at the Rheems
Shoe Products Corp. he was
also a member of the
Marietta Beneficial Associ-
ation.
In addition to his wife, he
is survived by four sisters:
Barbara, wife of Charles
Senft, Dover; Frances, wife
of Robert Rice, Klinesville;
Elizabeth, wife of Eugene
Derstler, Columbia; Harriet,
Lancaster; Two brothers
also survive: Roy, Lancaster
and Harry, Utah.

Mount Joy and will take
place on Friday, March 14
from 6 pm to 9 pm and on
Saturday, March 15 from 9
am to 3 pm.

RHODA NOLT
Mrs. Rhoda E. Hess Nolt,
70, died at her residence
following a lengthy illness.
She resided at 620 Donegal
Springs Road, Mount Joy.
She was born in Cones-
toga Township, a daughter
of the late Abram M. and
Lizzie Breneman Hess. She
was the wife of Melvin O.
Nolt. Mrs. Nolt was a
member of the Mount Joy
Mennonite Church.
She is survived by her
husband, and two daugh-
ters, Elizabeth, wife of Dr.
Vernon H. Kratz, Sellers-
ville, and Lavon, wife of
Wilmer E. Kolb, Elverson;
five grandsons; a brother,
David B. Hess, Lancaster
R6; and a sister, Ruth, wife
of John R. Breneman,
Lancaster R6.
