On Thursday the Indian matmen took Annville Cle- ona, 34 to 24, and on Saturday out-wrestled Co- lumbia, 42 to 14. Against Annville-Cleona, Dave Musser (98 pounds), Leonard Mummau (145), Jeff Bell (155), and Rudy Wolgemuth (167) all pinned their opponents. Ken Swigart (10S), Mike Greiner (126), Steve Mesza- ros won decisions. Against Columbia, Swei- gart and Mummau won by falls. Greiner, Meszaros, Wolgemuth, and Bell won decisions. Hoover had a draw. Bell won by default, and Musser and Becker won by default. Dribblers end season with victories last week Donegal boys’ basketbal team finished their season last week with two victories. They beat Pequea Valley Tuesday 74 to 6S, and beat ELCO 73 to 70 on Friday. With these two victories their overall won-lost record is 12 to 9, second best in Section Three to Garden Spot. Mitch Johnson, Donegal’s scoring ace, racked up 22 points against Pequea Val- ley, and 3S points against ELCO. T. Merchant has 1000; girls play PM tonight The girls of Donegal closed their regular basket- ball season last week in their typical style with smashing victories over Lampeter- Strasburg, 86 to 28, and over Pequea Valley, 86 to 29 Tanya Merchant Thus, the regular season ended with a tie for first place with Penn Manor, both teams having records of 13-1. That tie will not last for long, however. That tie will be settled this Wednesday night at Conestoga Valley High School in a play-off between the tied teams. The game starts at 7 p.m. Tickets may be purchased at D.H.S., adults $2, students $1. All tickets at the gate will be $2. In last week’s final game of the season, Tanya Merchant of the Donegal girls basketball team scored 20 points to give her a career total of 1001 points. Tanya thus becomes the third Donegal player to achieve the 1000-mark. Sherri Kinsey was the first Indian to make the mark. Then Mitch Johnson reached it—and now Tanya. Big “L” volleyball team wins AAA championship Both Big ‘““L”’ and Fay Sherman’s won matches Sunday, February 3 to force a play-off in the Chiques A.A.A. Co-ed Volleyball League. Sherman's defeated Har- ris Hub 15 to 3 and 15 to 4 while Big ‘L”’ defeated Three Center Square 15 to 2 and 15 to 4. In the play-off for the league championship, Big ““L”” defeated Fay Sher- man’s 15 to 11, S to 15 and 15 to 6 to win its third straight league champion- ship. This establishes a new league mark. Player-coach Mike Lip- pold, also the sponsor of Big ““L”’, has announced that his team will be disbanded. Snyder, architectural historian, to hold workshop in Associates center The Marietta Restoration Associates announce the fourth in a series of free workshops to be held Tuesday, February 26 at 7:30 pm at 36 West Market Street in Marietta. John J. Snyder, a local architectural historian, will be conducting a session on the identifica- tion of architectural features of local homes. If you are curious about the vintage or description of particular exterior or interior features of your house, please plan to attend. Also, if you are completing an application for a loan and need an accurate description of the facade of your building, this workshop may be of help. The Marietta Restoration Associates will be glad to take photographs of part- icular parts of your house free of charge to those in Marietta and at a nominal cost to residents in sur- rounding ‘communities if photos are not available.
