January 28 is the deadline for
businesses to file for TMI loans
Business owners who
suffered economic injury as
the result of occurrences at
the Three Mile Island
Nuclear Plant, are reminded
by the U.S. Small Business
Administration that the
deadline for submitting
applications for loans ex-
pires January 28, 1980.

Unseasonably warmer weather last week has forced
the budding of spring flowers in Lancaster County. In
Mount Joy it was reported that Johny Jump-Ups were
in bloom at the home of Suie Snyder, Birchland

Jack and
Grace Thomas
celebrate 25
years together
A surpise drop-in party
was held recently for Jack
and Grace Thomas of 233
North Barbara St., Mount
Joy. The couple celebrated
their twenty-fifth wedding
anniversary January 1.
The party was planned by
the Thomas's children: Julie
and Tracy Hamilton, John
and Bev Thomas, Deb and
Doug Mueller, Mary and
Scott Stark and Lori Thom-
as. About seventy friends
and relatives attended the
party.
Guests provided a money
tree for the couple. ‘They
plan to visit her brother in
California,” daughter Julie
told us, ‘““and we felt this
was a nice way of getting
them started.”’
The couple has lived in
Mount Joy for the past
twelve years. The were from
Williamsport, PA, orginally,
and spent a good deal of
time in New York.
‘Some of the people we
had invited could not attend
because of the weather,”
said Julie, “‘but they
surprised my parents with
telephone calls. It was just a
way for us to say how great
we'think our parents really
are!”

John Lutz receives plaque from the
Marietta Pioneer Fire Company
John Lutz, a former
operator of the dispatch
service for area fire compan-
ies, was presented a plaque
at the annual banquet of the
Marietta Pioneer Fire Com-
pany this past Saturday
night. The inscription on the
plaque read ‘‘For many
years of faithful service’.
The award was presented by
the fire company president,
Harold McKain.
Rev. Aristede Red served
as master of ceremonies for
the event. He also offered
the invocation.
Special .guests included
County Fire Marshall, Paul
Knier, and State Police Fire
Marshall.
Trinity Lutheran, Mount Joy,
to have music recital January 27
On Sunday afternoon,
January 27, at 4 pm, Mr.
Luke K. Grubb, organist,
and Dr. LeonaFrances
Woskowiak, harpsichordist/
pianist, will present a recital
at Trinity Lutheran Church,
Mount Joy. There is no
admission charge for the
recital.
Mr. Grubb holds degrees
from Lebanon Valley Col-
lege and The Indiana State
University, Bloomington,
Indiana, and has done
doctoral work at Temple
University. He is an Asso-
ciate Professor of Music at
Millersville State College
and serves as the Director of
Music and Organist at the
First Reformed Church,
Lancaster, PA.
Dr. Woskowiak holds
degrees from Duquesne
University, The Pennsyl-
vania State University, an
Orff Certificate from the
University of Toronto, and
has done post-doctoral work
at Carnegie-Mellon Univer-
sity and The New York State
University. She is an
Associate Professor of Mu-
sic at Millersville State
College and serves as the
Director of Music at Trinity
Lutheran Church, Mount
Joy. She is also an organist
at the church and directs the
Mount Joy Community
Youth Choir.
The program Sunday
afternoon will include music
from the baroque, classical,
