purchase the building and
convert it into a youth
center.
It was noted that only the
sanctuary building is ex-
onerated from taxes, but the
board suggested working
out a plan whereby the
church pays taxes and the
school pays for some use of
the building. The proper
persons would be notified
regarding this request.
It was decided not to pay
for the transportation of
several physical education
classes to and from Clear-
view Bowling Lanes. The
cost would have been $550.
At this time the students are
paying $.50 a trip for their
once-a-week trip to the
bowling alley. Dr. Hartzler
mentioned that requests for
educational field trips by the
elementary schools had
been denied and he could
not ‘“‘in good conscience’
vote for this expense.
The board approved a
. contract with Susquehanna
: Developers, Inc. of Colum-
+ bia for $1270 for repairs of
| rain gutters at the Seiler
Elementary School. This
money would be transferred
from other categories of the
Seiler budget.
Anyone
census taker should submit
their name at the district
office before February 7.
Successfull applicants will
be confirmed at the Feb-
ruary meeting. The census
takers will serve from March
1 to May 1. This census will
still be taken in spite of the
national census. The nation-
al census, because of its
large scale, often takes
several years to process.
There was a report given
by the Donegal School
Authority. They announced
that all officers were re-
elected. They include: Jay
Houseal, chairman; James
R. Baker, vice chairman;
Robert Greider, secretary;
William Eby, assistant sec-
retary; and Robert Kline,
treasurer. Eby was re-
appointed to the authority to
serve a five-year term. The
firm of Groff and White was
reappointed auditors for the
authority.

January 29, at the Good N’
Plenty Restaurant, Smoke-
town.
Persons interested in a
ten-day visit to an unidenti-

applications either as ‘‘am-
bassadors’’ or as local host.
The fifty persons whose
applications have already
been accepted may attend,

The same plane will bring a

in homes, and four more
either traveling in the host
country or as guests in
another home. Two days will
be set aside for plane travel.
The fee is $479 per person.
Each person accepted for
the flight is expected to
provide a local host family;
local hosts will be given first
preference on future trips.
Dr. A.G. Breidenstine,
chairman of the applications
committee, will be in charge
of the meeting, assisted by
members of his committee.
He will explain the work-
shops which will be held
prior to departure to
acquaint travelers with the
