He was a retired U.S. civil service engineer. Born in Lancaster, he spent most of his life elsewhere, and served in the U.S.Army in World War IL He resided the last four years in Marietta. He was the husband of Jean E. Swartz Morrison and a son of the late James C. and Anna H. Martin Morrison. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Marietta, Euclid Lodge 698, Free and Accepted Masons in Harris- burg, Harrisburg Consis- tory, and the Cumberland Valley Volunteer Firemen'’s Association. Last Minute Ch In addition to his wife, he is survived by a brother, Kenneth, Palmyra. MRS. B. J. RETTEW Mrs. Lillie K. Rettew, 62, Tampa, Fla., died at York Hospital, York. She was formerly of Marietta. She was the wife of Benjamin J. Rettew, Tampa, Fla. A daughter of the late Irta and Kathryn McFatridge Kendig, she was born in York and graduated from William Penn Senior High School, York. She was a policewoman for nine years in Tampa and a member of the University Church of God, and the Order of Eastern Star, Tampa. Mrs. Rettew is survived by her husband and two daughters: Alda Winter, York, and Marjorie Taylor, ristmas Tampa; one son, Charles D. Henderson, Polk City, Fla.; six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Three brothers and two sisters also survive: Daniel Kendig, Spring Grove RS; Stanley Kendig, York R3; Benjamin Kendig, York; Loretta Kornbau, Red Lion, and Esther Mundis, Tampa. GEORGE HEDRICK SR. George H. Hedrick Sr., 61, of 16-B Tenby Way, died at Lancaster Hospital, after a lingering illness. He was formerly of Mount Joy. Formerly employed by the Burnham Corp., Lancaster, as a machinist, he belonged to the International Molders and Allied Workers Union. He served in the Army during World War II, was a member of Sunbury Hose re Co., Sunbury, Pa., and Friendship Fire Co., No.l in Mount Joy. The husband of Dorothy M. Rye Hedrick, he was born in Sunbury, a son of the late Paul E. and L. Caroline Zerbe Hedrick. He was a member of St. Luke’s Reformed Church, Lancas- ter. He is survived by his wife and two sons and daughter: George H.Jr., Mount Joy; Terry L., State College; Bonnie, wife of Herbert Coover, Mount Joy; three grandchildren; two brothers and two sisters: John and Paul both of Sunbury; Mrs. Edna Tovey and Grace, wife of Kenneth Rupp, both of Sunbury. She had been a guest at the home for 6 years. She was a member of the English United Presbyterian Church, Marietta, and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was born in Marietta and was a lifelong resident of the boraugh. She was the widow of the late John P. Schock, who died in October, 1967. She was a daughter of the late Victor and Josephine Kam- merer Haldeman. Surviving are three child- ren; Josephine, wife of Fred Van Epps, Seneca Falls, N.Y.; John P. Schock, Jr., South Lake Tahoe, Calif.; and Mrs. Charles H. Oliver, Carlisle; six grandchildren, and eight great-grand- children. RAY R. MYERS Mrs. Anna C. Nissly Myers, 80, formerly of Mount Joy and 73 Autumn St., Salunga, died 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Conestoga View where she lived for the past two years. She was a member of the St. Marks United Methodist Church, Mount Joy. She was the wife of the late Ray R. Myers, who died in April, 1977. Born in Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Cyrus M. and Jenny Copenheffer Nissly. She is survived by a son, Ray M. Myers, of Lancaster, three grandchildren and a brother, John C. Nissly, of Mount Joy. Chiques Co-Ed volleyball The action in the Chiques AAA Co-ed Volleyball League during the last two weeks has been as follows: On December 2nd Fay Sherman's beat Harris Hub 156 ‘and 15-); Big L defeated Three Center Square 15-4, 15-7. On December 9th Big L edged over Fay Sherman's 12-15, 14-12, 15-4; Three Center ‘Square defeated Harris Hub 15-5, 15-6. The current standings are: Team Big L Fay Sherman's Three Center Square Harris Hub CORRECTION: In the Dec. 12th issue of the Susquehanna Times it was incorrectly stated that the Chiques AAA basketball games are all played at the Columbia Armory. Actually, only Thursday games are played there (at 8:00 and 9:00pm). Monday games are played at Farmdale Elemen- tary School (at 7:00 and 8:00pm). Ww. L. & chairs auxiliary Mrs. William Heisey was ippointed_co-chairwoman of the Marietta Auxiliary to the Columbia Hospital at that group’s last meeting. She will fill the unexpired term of Mrs. Joseph Carroll, who resigned. The other co-chairwoman is Mrs. Herbert Sarver. Also at the meeting, the ‘Basket of Cheer’’ was won by Mary Garber, of West Market Street. The basket was chanced off at the recent benefit Christmas Luncheon, held at the home of Mrs. Sarver.
