Hershey, 81, Mount Joy R1, died Satur- day night in an automobile accident. Hershey was the son of the late Ephraim and Annie Engle Hershey, and was born in [East Donegal Township. He was a mem- ber of the Elizabethtown Mennonite Church, where he served as trustee and Sunday School teacher. He was president of the Lancaster County Tobacco Growers Association, Vice president of the Elizabeth- town Senior Citizens, past president of the Livestock Producers Cooperative. He retired from farming in 1960. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are five children: Robert E., Elizabethtown; Charles E.; Harry E.Jr., of Mount Joy RI1; John H., Marietta Rl; and Mrs. Pauline H. Engle, Mount Joy. He is also survivied by 15 grandchildren; six great- grandchildren; and two brothers, Engle E., Toms River, N.J.; and Abram E., Harrisburg. THOMAS E. SCHADT JR. Thomas E. Schadt Jr., 54, Marietta R.D.#1, was pro- nounced dead . while deer hunting in Sullivan Co. Friday Afternoon of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The husband of Bette W. Schadt, he was born in Bethlehem, a son of the late Dr. Thomas E. and Esther R. Hoffman. He worked as a salesman for the Dragon Cement Co., of the Martin Marietta Corp., for 22 years. He was a member of F&AM, Stanley Goodwin Lodge 648, Bethlehem, the Lehigh Valley Consistory, the Lehigh Valley Shrine Club, AAONMSNA Rajah Temple, Reading, and the Pennsylvania Engineering Society. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Tracy Schadt, Lancaster, and a step-daughter, Sandra A. Brown, Lancaster. Also surviving are one sister, Judy, wife of Dr. Howard D.
