woman in Indian run
Last Saturday morning,
as part of the Homecoming
festivities at Donegal High
School, an Indian Run took
place, consisting of a 2-mile
and also a S-mile race.
The 2-mile race was won
by two people Randy Snyder
and Henry Klugh in 10:32.
In third place was Pat
Killian at 10:43.
The S-mile race was won
by Ron Herman in 28:10.
Second was Doug Heagy,
28:26, and third was Jeff
Hoffer, 28:36.
* In the age group 10 to 19
Dave Diehm was first,
33:38; John Bright was
second, 34:57; Brian Schaef-
fer was third, 38:49.
In the 20-29 group the
first three were: Randy
Brandt, 30:15; Dale Hilsher,
31:05; Timothy Nickel,
32:35.
In the 30s age group:
Dave Halbleib, 29:01;
George Cunningham, 31:06;
Bill Hoff, 33:58.
Forties: Chuck Portser,
32:00; Lear Williams, 35:26;
Alan Smeltzer, 38:34.
Fifties: Charles Cooke
33:10; Donald Drenner,
39:25; Andy Armstrong,
39:41.
The first woman to finish
the S-mile run was Jane
Portser at 36:30.
In the female 10 to 19 age
group Patty Fready and
Beth Gainer were both
clocked at 40:48.
In the 20s group,
Kathleen Armstrong came
in at 42:32.
