GEIST * Churchman, writer, editor and, in 1856, founder of the Lancaster County Republican Party. Lancaster County Republican leadership. J.M.W. Geist isn't exactly a household name — even in Lancaster County. But, it should be. Because if it wasn’t for his efforts in uniting Whigs, Native American Party members and other conservatives back in 1856, you might not have a Lancaster County Republican Party. J.M.W. Geist is the father of Lancaster County Republican- ism. Every citizen of Lancaster County can look to him for Republican leadership. The Republican candidates you'll be voting for this Tuesday will carry on that tradition. They're honest, hardworking and tight- fisted candidates. People just like you.
