The Chancel Choirs of St. Mark's UMC and Gloss- brenner UMC of Mount Joy, and Handbell Choir of St. Paul's UMC of Elizabeth- town, along with guest soloist Romayne Bidgett of Mount Joy, will combine their talents for this evening of music. The combined Chancel Choirs will sing ““O For a Thousand Tongues to Sing’’ by Beck. Soloists in the anthem will be John Way and Sandra Heisey. Accom- paniment will include the Handbell Choir and two trumpets by Mitchell Mummaw and Bruce Wagner. The combined choirs will also sing Handel’s ‘‘Hallelujah Chorus.” St. Mark’s Chancel Choir, under the direction of Leonard Smith, will sing ““Good News’’ arranged by Smith, ‘‘Nearer My God to Thee’ by Coates, and “Gloria in Excelsis’’ by Mozart. Mrs. Darlene Sugarwala will accompany. Glossbrenner’s Chancel Choir will sing the early Moravian anthem ‘‘Harken! Stay Clese to Jesus Christ’ with Stephen Smith as soloist; ‘‘Praise Him'’ by J.S. Bach; and ‘‘Swingin’ Chariot’ by Wells. Mrs. Carol Borry will direct and Mrs. Jean Longenecker will be the organist. The Handbell Choir, under the direction of Dennis E. Moyer, will play “Bell Joyance’’ by Lorenz and ‘‘Fanfare for Bells’’ by McCleary. Mrs. Bridgett will sing “A Great Day of Singing’’ to be heard Oct. 21 at Glossbrenner United Methodist, Mount Joy two numbers. The public is cordially invited to attend this special musical service. Marietta Assembly of God to hold revival services, Oct. 19 to Oct. 21 Revival services will be conducted nightly at 7:00pm beginning Friday, Oct. 19th and ending Sunday, Oct. 21 in the Marietta Assembly of God, Rte. 141 and Oremine Road, Marietta, it was announced by the Rev. E. Leroy Hoover, pastor of the church. The gospel themes will te salvation for the soul, divine healing for the body, the baptism in the Holy Spirit for all believers, and the secortd coming of Christ. The guest speaker will be the Rev. William Caldwell, Lit.D., of Tulsa, Oklahoma, evangelist, author and head of Front Line Evangelism, a worldwide missionary agency. Doctor Caldwell’s minis- try has taken him to all fifty states and many countries around the world. Some of his books are among the best sellers. His most recent overseas crusades have been in Korea, Japan, Sri Lanka, Ecuador, Peru, Argentina, the Canary Islands, Sene- gal, Singapore, the Philip- pines, Australia, India, the South - Pacific and in communist Eastern Europe. He has ministered to some of the largest crowds in the history of evangelical Christianity. His sermon subjects include: Meet the Healer, Your Miracle, Gifts of the Spirit, Tongues, ~ Running Away from Home, Prosper- ity Now, Lying Spirits, Demons and Exorcism, Samson and Guess Who, and When the World Goes BOOM. The evangelist will pray for the sick at each service. On Sunday, the services are at 10:35am and 7:00pm. The public is invited to attend. Bake sale to be held in Marietta, Oct. 19 The churches of Marietta will hold a bake sale from 3 to 7PM., October 19, in front of Spangler’s Appli- ance Store for the benefit of UNICEF, the United Na- tions Children’s Fund. St. Mark’s United Meth- odist Church of Mount Joy will observe World Order Sunday on October 2lst, with Dr: Herman Will as the guest speaker. Dr. Will is the General Secretary of the Board of World Peace of the United Mehodist Church. He has been involved in the peace movement all of his life, and has served the United Methodist Church in this capacity for more than 20 years. Dr. Will, a layman, is a lawyer who has traveled widely in the pursuit of peace. He represents the denomination before the federal government. He has ‘recently returned from a trip through South America. Missionfest at Mt. Joy Mennonite A weekend missionary conference—Missionfest *79 —will be held at the Mount Joy Mennonite Church starting on Friday evening, Oct. 19th, at 7:00pm, when Dr. Myron Augsburger, president of Eastern Men- nonite College, will speak on ‘Evangelism and Futur- ism.”’ Special music will be presented by the Landisville District Children’s choir and the Andy Hess family. On Saturday morning, Oct. 20, at 8:00am, a prayer breakfast will be held in the Fellowship Hall with Dr. Augsburger speaking on ‘‘Mission and the Interces- sory Prayer,”” with music by the Mount Joy Motet Singers.
