delphia, the son and
grandson of active Metho-
dist people. He is a graduate
of Friends’ Central School,
holds the B.A. from Hobart
College, an M.S. in
Business from Columbia
University, a B.D. from
Asbury Theological Semin-
ary, and a Ph.D. in religion
from Emory University.
The pastor was called to
the ministry in Turkey while
serving as an officer in the
U.S. Air Force. Ordained an
Elder in 1965S, Dr. Thomas
has served four churches.
For the past five and a half
years he has pastored
Summerfield United Meth-
odist Church in Philadel-
phia.
The pastor's wife is a
graduate of Methodist
Hospital (Philadelphia) and
a registered nurse. The
Thomases have two chil-
dren, a boy 14, and girl 12.

to celebrate its 175th anniversary
The week of Oct. 14-21 is
a very special time for the
congregation of Trinity
Evangelical Congregational
Church, New Haven and
West Donegal Streets,
Mount Joy.
Our congregation will
be celebrating its 175th
anniversary with
pastors speaking and special
groups providing music. On
Sunday evenings, our
bishop, Rev. John Moyer,
will speak and the Lifestyle
Singers from Lebanon will
provide musical entertain-
ment.
Tuesday evening, Rev.
Ralph Borneman and Rev.
Clarence Reeder will speak
former -
with entertainment being
provided by a quartet from
our First Church in Reading.
Wednesday evening, Rev.
Earl Troup will speak and
Loving Kindness from
Ephrata will provide music.
Thursday evening, Rev.
Henry Minnich will speak,
with The Believers from
Lebanon providirg the
special music.
On Friday, Rev. D.R.
Wolfe will speak with his
son, John Wolfe, providing
the music.
Sunday morning, Rally
Day Service will begin at
9:00am with our District
Superintendent, Rev. David
Greulich, speaking, and a
singing group from Bain-
bridge providing special
music. A covered dish
luncheon is planned for
noontime. Rev. P.M.
Wrightstone, our present
pastor, will speak in the
concluding service at 2:00
pm on Sunday. Special
music will be provided by
Mr. Russell Sumpman, Jr.,
and by the church choir.
Everyone is cordially
invited to the service. All
evening services will begin
at 7:00pm. Come to each
service and help us
celebrate the 175th anniver-
sary of the beginning of our
Mount Joy Church.
