Conestoga Valley and Garden Spot
tennis players no match for DHS;
Keffer and Miller win more games
vs. McCaskey ace than anyone has
Last Monday the girls
tennis team at DHS
defeated Conestoga Valley,
7-0. Then on Wednesday
they beat Garden Spot, 6-1.
On Saturday in the county
tournament, Sharon Hersh-
ey lost to Lewicki of
Hempfield. Marty Miller

DHS contains Spartans on ground,
but is defenceless in air, loses 0-21
The Donegal Indians
football team lost to Garden
Spot last Friday night, 0-21.
In losing Donegal contain-
ed Garden Spot’s ground-
gainer, Mike Hartman.
Donegal forced the Spartans
to take to the air.
Despite the fact that
Donegal was in good
position numerous times
during the game, they could
not make their offense work,
neither on land nor in the
atmosphere. The Indians
fumbled frequently. Consid-
ering that the Spartans were
not playing very well
_ themselves, the game was
not Donegal at its best.
Trouble started in the first
quarter when the Spartan
quarterback threw a 61-yard
pass that took the ball to
Donegal’s one yard line.
Another pass in the
second quarter made it 14-0.
In the third quarter
Hartman got loose for a
seven-yard touchdown.
Next week it’s Lampeter-
Strasburg, here.
Dr. Predicto top gridiron prophet

Dr. Predicto. the Susque-

forecasts for this week’s
games:
Section One

E-town over Penn Manor
Section Three
L-S over DHS, 19-6
ELCO over Lebanon Cath.
Annville-Celona

Northern Lebanon
Garden Spot over Cocalico
Of course, we here at the
Times are certain that
Predicto is wrong on one
count. The Pioneers will
certainly lose their scalps at
the hands of the Indians!
Soccer team loses thrice last week

team, and lost 3-0.
On Thursday, L-S over-
came the Indians 5-3. “We
were a little flat, playing 3
games this week,” said
soccer coach Bernie Thome.
The JV soccer team fared
better against the same
opponents. They put down
Pequea Valley 3-2, which
was their second win over
PV in many years, according
to Mr. Thome. They lost 0-8
to Hempfield, and roundly
defeated LS 4-1.

wins one, loses one, as team gels
Last Tuesday the DHS

coach, both teams ‘‘went
crazy scoring.’”’ At the end
of the regular game the

minute overtime it was 4-4.

on a penalty stroke made by
Betsy Germer. The previous

Crest. At the end of the
