Vandals made a mess of the Maytown Fire Co. sign and
smashed a wooden barrier which was stored alongside the
fire hall. The morning after the damage was done, angry
firefighters voiced opposition to the idea of a proposed
youth center for Maytown. ‘‘The kids will just wreck the
place, if we give it to them,’’ several said.
