And what keeps me from being what I can be in Christ, are those feelings that generate divisiveness and bitterness. Those we can do without. “Who am I, and that we can answer, whose am I, to whom or to what do I belong.” In an interview with" the Susquehanna Times Rev. Colvin said, ‘‘I defend the right of the poor to live decently... 1 think the church ought to speak out at times. If the church doesn’t, who will? ‘““When people hear a minister talking like this, they think he’s out of his field. My religious faith compels me to take a position on a moral question.”’ Rev. Colvin explained how he became interested in political and social questions when he served as a chaplain at the University of Puerto Rico in the 1960’s. The students were poor and many were revolutionaries. A church that ignored thei interests could have nc influence upon them. Rev. Colvin believes fundamentally in the whole- ness of the person. A person cannot be segmented into separate religious, political and economic parts. In keeping with this belief in wholeness, Rev. Colvin has become increasingly interested in the phenomen- on of faith healing. One Sunday in every month people come forward at the end of the service at St. Mark’s for prayer and a laying on of, hands. The invitation in the church pro- gram reads: ‘‘Come if you need spiritual or physical help.” Not charismatic himself, Rev. Colvin thinks the charismatic movement has had a profound influence on traditional churches. He thinks some charismatics have hidden the fact that they are charismatics from other people. ‘I would want people in my church to be open about their charismatic experience. ‘‘Salvation is healing body, mind, and spirit. I think Christians should be the healthiest people in the world.” ‘Heads Up!’ contest The winner of the last ‘“‘Heads Up!”’ contest spon- sored by the Marietta Restoration Associates, is Tina Palmer of 23 W.
