Mrs. Ernest Hess
Elizabeth M. Hess, 74,
of 128 Harrisburg Ave.,
Rheems, died unexpectedly
at Lancaster General Hospi-
tal. She had been under the
care of a physician.
She had been employed at
the former Risser’s Garment
Co., Elizabethtown, for 22
years.
Mrs. Hess was a member
of Hossler’s Mennonite
Church.
Born in West Donegal
Township, she was a
daughter of the late Henry
and Elizabeth Newcomer
Miller.
She is survived by her
husband, Ernest D. Hess;
one son, Nelson Hess,
Landisville; two grand-
daughters; one sister, Mar-
tha, wife of Norman
Ebersole, Mount Joy, and
one brother, Christ Miller,
Elizabethtown, R1.

Mrs. Paris N. Garber
Mary C. Garber, 84,
Elizabethtown, died at
Lancashire Hall.
She was the wife of the
late Paris N. Garber, and a
resident of the Maytown-
Elizabethtown area all of her
life.
Mrs. Garber was a
member of St. John
Lutheran Church, Maytown.
Born in Maytown, she
was a daughter of the late
John H. and Ella Nicholas
Keener.
Surviving are two daugh-
ters, Beatrice, wife of C.
Edward Blank, Bethlehem,
and Mary, wife of Roy W.
Garber, Elizabethtown; also
three grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by
two sisters, Edith Rojahn,
Harrisburg, and Ruth, wife
of Martin G. Musser,
Lancaster; and one brother,
Joseph N. Keener, of
Maytown.
Edward G. Roberts
Edward G. Roberts, 75, of
3 E. Liberty St., formerly of
Columbia, died at Lancaster
General Hospital, after an
illness of three days.
He was a retired janitor
from Graybill Electric Co.
He was baptized in the
United Methodist faith. A
U.S.Army veteran of World
War II, he was a
life-member of AmVets Post
19, Lancaster, and a former
baseball player with the old
Columbia Church League.
Born in Marietta, he was
a son of the late Harry and
Margie Eisenberger Rob-
erts.
He is survived by one
brother, William Roberts,
Mountville, and one sister,
Anna Tangert, Lancaster,
and a number of nieces and
nephews.

Stephen J. Coleman
Stephen Joseph Coleman,
23, of 3200 Payne Ave., San
Jose, Calif., formerly of
Mount Joy R2, was killed in
a motorcycle accident at
Uvas County Park, Santa
Clara County, Calif., near
San Jose.
He died after his
motorcycle collided with a
truck on a curve in the road.
Born in Lancaster, he was
a son of Dr. Hugh J. and
Joan Harmer Coleman, of
Mount Joy R2. He had been
a resident of San Jose for
the past two years and was
employed with the Apex
Marble Company as mana-
ger of the marble shop.
He was a member of St.
Peter’s Catholic Church and
the Loyal Order of Moose
Lodge, both of Elizab::th-
town. He was a 1973
graduate of Elizabetht>wn
Area High School where he
was active in varsity sports.
In addition to his parents,
he is survived by three
brothers, Michael H., San
Jose, Calif.; Christopher R.,
Arlington, Va.; and Gary T.,
at home; two sisters, Jane
E., and Kathy J., both at
home, and a maternal
grandfather, Raymond L.
Harmer, Upper Darby.
