The Sth annual Lancaster
Area Basketball Camp was
held June 11-15 at Donegal
High School under the
direction of Emil Swift.
The camp was divided
into a boys’ camp, from 9:00
AM to 3:00 PM, and a girls’
camp from 4:00 PM to 10:00
PM, daily. All students in
grades S through 12 from
the Lancaster area were
eligible to participate.

College; Mike Motto, start-
ing guard at Messiah
College; and Bob Freund,
Donegal Junior Varsity
coach.
The guest coaches for the
girls’ camp were: Sharon
Sugar, Section III Champ-
ionship Coach of the Hemp
field team; Tina Mullouna,
L-L League champion; Bill
Earhart, coach of the
Donegal girls’ team; Emil’
Swift, coach of the Donegal
boys’ team; and Bob
Freund.
In addition to the various
coaches, a number of guest
speakers attended the
~camp. They included: John
Clark, former coach at St.
Francis College and then
head coach for the Pitts-
burgh Pipers of the ABA;
John Slider, considered the
world’s greatest shooting
instructor; Charlie McLal-
lough, executive director of
the PIAA; and Tick Hurst,
PIAA official.
60 boys and 40 girls
attended this summer’s
camp.

The next meeting of the
Donegal School Board will
be held on Thursday, June
21st, at 8:00 PM in the
district office. On the
agenda for this meeting are
the following items:
1. Adoption of the pro:
posed budget for 1979-80.
2. Setting of salaries of
non-contract employees.
3. Personnel matters:
resignations, hirings, coach-
ing recommendations.
4. Adoption of the school
The Adoptive Families of}
Lancaster County are plan-
ning a picnic on Sunday,
July 1st at the Manhiem
Township Community Park
in Neffsville. The picnic will
be at pavilion #2 from 2:00
to 6:00 PM.
The theme of this year’s
picnic is ‘‘Happiness is
Adoption.” The various
Charles Shulz characters
will decorate the pavilion,
and the adults will enjoy
fellowship with others who
have experienced the ‘‘hap-
piness’’ of having their
families increased by adop-
tion.

be a variety of games, toys
and prizes for everyone, and
an opportunity to have your
face painted to resemble a
clown, an Indian, a gypsy,
or the ‘“Hulk.”’
Each child will also
receive a packet of peanut
butter playdough in order to
make a creation and then
have the additional fun of
eating it.
The picnic is open to any
family in Lancaster County
that has been enriched
through an adoption exper-
ience. For further informa-
