“Witness to Freedom,’ in
the church grove Sunday,
May 27, at 3 PM.
The presentation is in
seven scenes, with cos-
tumes, songs and live
music, and is free to the

Special recognition was '
given to church officers
of Zion United Church of
Christ, Marietta, on Appre-
ciation Sunday (May 20th).
Honored were secretary-
treasurer Mrs. John Good-
ling. Jr., and treasurer Don
Simmons.
Past officers in the same
offices were also honored.
Each received a vase con-
taining a rose. All officials
received monetary gifts
from the congregation.

Mrs. Laura Kugle, and Mrs.
Jack Mooney.

recognition committee.
Todd returns to
Donegal Presbyterian
Dr. Richard A. Todd,
former pastor of Mount Joy
and Donegal Presbyterian
Churches, will be returning
to his first pastorate at
Mount Joy on Sunday, June
3rd, to preach at the 11:00
AM worship service. Dr.
Todd is presently the Senior
Minister of the Walnut
Creek Presbyterian Church
of Walnut Creek, California,
Opera Workshop, is direc-
ting the production, in
which all the actors are
members of the Donegal
Church. Seating will be
provided in the oak grove,
but spectators are invited to
bring their own deck chairs
if desired.
The outdoor drama in-
salute to the
founding of Lancaster Co. in
1729, the origin of the
church in 1721, the Witness
a church of approximately
3,000 members. Prior to this
he was pastor of the
Memorial Park Community
Presbyterian Church of
Allison Park, Pennsylvania.
A reception for Dr. Todd
will be held immediately
following the service in the
Sunday School rooms, and
all interested are cordially
invited to attend.
“Witness to Freedom”
Tree pledge of 1777, and
other events. Michael Mc-
Kee of Landisville will play
the Scottish bagpipes, and
there will be a string trio
consisting of John Hamil-
ton, violin; Kathy Gates,
viola; and Stefan A. Ochs,
"cello.
The historic church is on
Donegal Springs Road, 3
miles west of Mount Joy.
Rain date for the drama is
June 3.
