She discussed the various stages through which fe- males progress during their lifetimes. The group participated in a sing-a-long. Special guest was Mrs. Earl Carver. Prizes were awarded to Missy Wetzel, whose birth- day was closest to the banquet date; Mrs. Layman, who was the first person to arrive at the event; and to Mary Barth, winner of an elimination contest. UTS United Telephone System May 2, 1979 Beahm girls compete for May Queen title Nine 8th grade girls at Beahm Junior High will compete on May 4th for the title of May Queen. The new queen will be crowned by last year’s queen, Gay McKain, that Friday night in the Beahm auditorium, at 7:00 PM. Everyone will dance in Her Majesty's honor after the crowning. The May Day Dance and May Queen contest are sponsored by the student council. Beth Moran and Tracy Geltmacher are in charge of the ceremonies; faculty advisors are Ted Greider and Joyce Zangari. Marietta native is honored as athlete Bob Hoffman, founder and chief executive of the York Barbell Company and Hoffman Products, has been honored as one of the oldest active amateur athletes in America by the Athletic Union of the United States.
