He joined the Corps in September 1978. §§8 Timothy Eshelman of Mount Joy, a student at Juniata College, was in- ducted into Sigma Pi Sigma, the national physics honor society. The chairman of the physics department there said, ‘‘[this] is not only a tremendous honor for him, but for Juniata’s phsyics department as well.” §§88 Elam B. Hollinger of Manheim has joined Heist- and Memorials, Inc., as a full-time salesman. Hollinger was previously employed by Garden Spot Meat Products. He is a graduate of Hesston Col- lege, Hesston, Kansas, with a degree in elemen- tary education. A native of Manheim, he is married to the former Gertrude Martin. = The Hollingers have five chil- dren. Mr. Hollinger is a Sunday School teacher at the Congregational Bible Church, Marietta. Bucki- us of 520 Donegal Springs Road, Mount Joy, Pa., has completed Air Force basic training at Lackland AFB, Texas. During the intensive six weeks of training, the airman earned the honor graduate ribben for aca- demic and military excel- lence. Completion of this training earned the indi- vidual credits towards an associate in applied science degree through the Com- munity College of the Air Force. Airman Buckius will now receive specialized training in the avionics systems field. He is a 1978 graduate of Donegal High School. 888 Marine Sergeant David L. Sanchez, son of Jacinto and Beatrice J. Sanchez of RD3, P.0.Box 40, Mount JOy, Pa., has .been promoted to his present rank while serving with the 2d Force Service Support Group, Marine Corps Base, Camp Lejeune, N.C. He joined the Corps in August 1976. Albert Kleiner was honor- ed by the Mount Joy Borough Council for ‘‘out- standing management ser- vice’' at the last council meeting. Kleiner had come out of retirement to serve as acting borough manager. Now that Bruce Hamer has taken up that duty, Kleiner is once again retired. He has a long history of service to his town. Shawn is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Moran of 333 Marietta Avenue, Mount Joy. He has been a scout for three years. Moran of Pack 136 gets Arrow of Light Cub Pack 136 held a meeting at Seiler School, at which cubmaster Robert W. Mark presented the following boys with these awards: Robert Keener and John Ginder, gold and silver arrows; Greg Bricker, silver arrow; Chris Jenkins, two silver arrows; Eric Lutz, gold arrow and bear award; Shawn Moran, athlete, aquanaut, sportsman, out- doorsman, scholar, travel- er, citizen and artist awards. Shawn also got the Arrow of Light, cub scouting’s highest award. A committee meeting was held at the home of Robert W. Mark.
