Donna Ebersole marries David Condon
The marriage of Miss
Donna Marie Ebersole to
David Mark Condon took
place Saturday, April 21, at
the Cross Roads Brethren
in Christ Church, Mount
Joy, with the Rev. Dale H.
Engle officiating.
The bride is the daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. John W.
Ebersole, 216 Pinkerton
Rd., Mount Joy. She
graduated from Donegal
High School and is em-
ployed by National Central
Bank.
The bridegroom is the
son of Mr. and Mrs. David
L. Condon, 512 Martin
Ave., Mount Joy. He
graduated from Donegal
High School and is em-
ployed by Klick-Lewis,
Palmyra.
Miss Melody Ebersole,
sister of the bride, Eliza-
bethtown, was maid
honor. Bridesmaids were
Miss Pamela K. Ebersole,
sister of the bride, Mount
Joy, and Kathryn J.
Condon, sister of the
bridegroom, Mount Joy.
Flower girl was Miss
Kimberly Sentz, Mount
Joy.
Serving as best man was
B. Eliot Wilkins, New
Hampshire. Ushers were
William Condor and James
Condon, Munson.
The couple will live at
Columbia RDI.

Singing In the Spring at DHS
The Donegal High School
Vocal Music Department
will present a concert in
the D.H.S. Auditorium on
Saturday, May S, 1979,
beginning at 8:00 PM. The
concert will feature the
D.H.S. Rhythm Singers
and the Concert Choir.
The Rhythm Singers will
be performing, in their
usual dancing style, to such
numbers as ‘‘1 Write the
Songs’’, ‘‘Hello Dolly’’,
‘“Can’t Stop Dancin’’,
“Bandstand Boogie’’, and
their infamous Steve Has-
v
singer arrangement of
“They Call Them Commer-
cials’’. Selections by the
choir include ‘‘Anthem for
Spring’’ from the opera
Cavelleria Rusticana by
Mascagti;~a ‘‘Fiddler on
the Roof’ medley, ‘‘Ease
on Down the Road’’ from
The Wiz and ‘‘Russian
Picnic’’ by Harvey Enders.
A special feature on the
program will be an original
composition written for the
choir, by senior Kirk Billet.
Patrick Kenney, another
senior, provided the lyrics
for the number.
The program is under
the direction of Mrs.
RoAnn J. Lau with Mrs.
Linda Ross supplying the
artistic choreography.
Accompanists include Lo-
nette Earhart, Mark Wag-
ner, Lisa Mummaw, Joyce
Darkey and Mrs. Lau.
The choir officers for this
year are Becky Zimmer-
man, President; Wayne
Mylin, Vice President;
Bonnie Wolgemuth, Secre-
tary-Treasurer; Floyd Run-
kle, Art Chairman; and

Michele Vogt, and Joette
Keller. Nancy Brubaker
and Donna Watto will
provide the music.
There is no admission
charge. Donations will be
accepted at the door,
however.

The choir is continuing to
do church concerts as
follows: April 29th at The
Glossbrenner United Meth-
odist Church in Mount
Joy: and May 20th at the
Maytown Church of God.
Both concerts begin at 7:30
PM. In addition to many
public appearances made
by the Rhythm Singers
locally, this group will be
featured at the Hershey-
park Amphitheater on June
11th for three shows.

Mount Joy Lions host basketball teams
~The Donegal Boys and
Girls Basketball teams
were the guests of honor at
the April 17th dinner
meeting of the Mount Joy
Lions Club, held at
Hostetter’s.
Charles Hershey talked
about local and inter-
national Lions activites
during the past year. Bill
Barto was presented with a
plaque by president Jim
Roberts, which read: ‘“‘In
sincere appreciation and
recognition for distinguish-
ed service, loyalty and
devotion to the objectives
and future of Lionism.”’
Adrien Hohenwacter
played piano for the group.

JOHN F. HANK
John F. Hank, 67,
Marietta RD1, died at
Heatherbank Convalescent
Center, Columbia.
The husband of Mary E.
Breckline Hank, he was
born in Stony Brook, York
Co., a son of the late Paul
B. and Mary Myers Hank.
He worked as a heavy
equipment operator for
Local 542 of Harrisburg.
He was a member of the
English United Presbyter-
ian Church, Marietta, the
Ashara Lodge No. 398,
F&AM of Marietta, the
Harrisburg Consistory and
the Lancaster Lodge of
Perfection. He was also a
member of the East
Donegal Folk Club and a
life member of the Mount
Joy Sportsmen’s Assn.
In addition to his wife,
he is survived by a son,
Joseph Hank, Marietta,
and two daughters: Cyn-
thia, wife of Christian
Miller, Honey Grove RDI;
and Orpha, wife of Charles
A. Ressler, Holtwood.
Three grandchildren and
four great-grandchildren
also survive.
CABL H. MARKLEY, JR.
Carl H. Markley Jr., 29,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl
H. Markley, 1215 Manor
St., Columbia, died. He
was formerly of Marietta,
and served in the Army
from 1969 to 1973.
He worked in the
operating room at Hershey
Medical Center, as an
operating room technician.

MRS. PAUL HAWTHORNE
Christine M. Hawthorne,
68, of 235 Marietta Ave.,
Mount Joy, died at
Polyclinic Hospital, Harris-
burg, after an illness of
four days.
She was the wife of Paul
B. Hawthorne, Lebanon
Veterans Hospital, and had
been a resident of Mount
Joy for the past 46 years.
“Mrs. Hawthorne was
employed as a companion
for Martha Dohner, Harris-
burg, for the past four
years. She previously had
been employed as a
floorlady at the former
Gerberich-Payne Shoe Co.,
Joe Stradling, two-year
directors; and Paul Clark
and Robert Sherk, one-
year directors.
Ladies’ Night will be
held on May Ist. That’
meeting will also be Past
Presidents’ Night and
Charter Night.
Instead of a dinner
meeting on May 15th, the
Lions will sell light bulbs
and brooms door-to-door.
Mount Joy, for a number of

United Methodist Church,
Mount Joy, she also
belonged to Women of the
Moose Chapter 724, Co-
lumbia, and Susquehanna
Township Ambulance As-
sociation of Paxtang.
She was born in Lancas-
ter, a daughter of the late
William E. and Anna Birk
Derr.
In addition to her
husband, she is survived
by a daughter, Shirley A.,
wife of Richard J. Hoover,
with whom she resided;
three grandchildren; three
great-grandchildren; a bro-
ther, Richard J. Derr,
Landisville, and one sister,
Catherine,” wife of Lester
K. Fogie, Marietta.
