He was the husband of Mabel Brubaker Herr. Born in Neffsville, he was a son of the late Amos and Mary Kauffman Herr. He was a farmer in Mount Joy RDI1. After retiring from farming, he worked for the Elizabeth- town Building and Supply Co. He was a member of the United Zion Church, of Elizabethtown, and the Rheems Fire Company. In addition to his wife, he survived by a daughter, Elva M., wife of Bishop Brinser B. Heistand, of Elizabethtown RD3; a fos- ter daughter, June, wife of Larry Sensenig, of Terre Hill; four grandchildren and a great-grandson. He also is survived by a brother, Paul Herr, of Witmer, and a sister, Grace, wife of Willis Weaver, of Mount Joy. KATHRINE PENYAK Kathrine Penyak, 85, formerly of 153 Ww. Fairview Ave., Marietta, died at Harrisburg State Hospital, where she had lived six years. She was the widow of George Penyak Sr., and was born in Czechoslova- kia. MARIE RAHM CARSON Miss Marie Rahm Car- son, 74, of 202 W. Main St., Mount Joy, died in her home. Although death was unexpected, she had been under the care of a physician. Born in Mount Joy, she was a daughter of the late Frank D. and Minnie Rahm Carson, She was employed for more than 50 years by the former Gerberich - Payne Shoe Co., Mount Joy. The last of her immedi- ate family, she was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Mount Joy. CHARLES W. WATTS Charles W. Watts, a retired farmer, died at Lehman Nursing Home, Rheems, where he resided for the past year. He was 94. Formerly of 212 N. Market Ave., Mount Joy, Watts was a farmer, retiring approximately 27 years ago. He was the husband of the late Grace F. Eshelman Watts, who died in 1968. Watts was a member of Maytown Reformed United Church of Christ. Born in Perry County, he was a son of the late Abner and Mary Zeigler Watts. He is survived by the following children: Ralph A. Watts, Mount Joy: Erma G., wife of Amon T. Noland, Akron, Ohio; Clyde A. Watts, Hopeland; John E. Watts, Lititz; and James E. Watts, Manheim RD4; 22 grandchildren; 22 great- grandchildren, and a bro- ther, Frank Watts, High- spire. MRS. JOHN DRESCHER Anna R. Drescher, 77 of Columbia RD2, died at her home after a lengthy illness. X She was the wife of John L. Drescher. A former resident of Mount Joy, she was a member of Cross- roads Brethren in Christ Church, Mount Joy. Born in Mount Joy Township, she was a daughter of the late Abram W. and Mary Reist Mummau. In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, John M., Scottdale, Westmoreland County; James M., Lan- caster, and Luke M., Harrisonburg, Va.; two daughters, Mary V., wife of Lloyd H. Miller, Mount Joy RDI; and Anna Ruth, wife of James Glick, Brewster, Ohio; 21 grand- children; and two great - grandchildren. She was employed at the ITT Grinnell Corporation, Co- lumbia, and was a member of the International Mold- ers and Allied Workers Union 376. Surviving are her moth- er, Mrs. Ruth Finkenbinder Alexander, Carlisle; three sisters, Mrs. Josephine A. Neff, Mount Holly Springs, Pa.; Mrs. Mary Ellen Ott, Saylorsburg, - Pa.; Miss Eyca M. Alexander, Phila- delphia; two brothers, Samuel W., Bath, Pa., and John M., Middletown. ELIZABETH B. SIMONS Elizabeth B. Simons, 6S, Quarryville Presbyter- ian Home, died at Lancas- ter General Hospital after a three-year illness. She was a member of the Congregational Bible Church, Marietta. Born in Mount Joy, she was a daughter of the late Christian S. and Emma K. Bollock Simons. Surviving are three bro- thers, Christian B. Simons, Elizabethtown; Arthur B. Simons, Lebanon; Earl -B. Simons, Mount Joy, and a sister, Emma Snavely, Manheim. CLYDE ESHLEMAN Clyde F. Eshleman, of Luther Townhome Apart- ments. Lititz, died at his home after an extended illness. He was 83. The husband of Luella Habecker Eshleman, he had been a resident of Mount Joy until three years ago, when he moved to Luther Townhome. Before his retirement in 1973, Eshleman was em- ployed as a salesman for the David Martin Store, Elizabethtown. that, he was a partner for 42 years with his brother Ralph in the ownership and operation of Eshleman Bros. Men'’s Clothing Shop, Main Street, Mount Joy, until 1961. He was a 53-year charter member and past president of Mount Joy Rotary Club; a charter member and a past commander of W.S, Ebersole Post 185 Ameri- can Legion, Mount Joy, where he had been a member for 6} years, and a member of Casiphia Lodge 551 Free and Accepted Masons, Mount Joy. Prior to> April 11, 1979 Eshleman also was an honorary life member of Mount Joy Friendship Fire Co. with more than 50 years service. He was a 40-year member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Mount Joy, where he had served as a Sunday School teacher, church councilman and parish house building committee- man. Eshleman also served as a troop committeeman for Mount Joy Boy Scout Troop 2. In World War 1 he served in the Quarter- master Corps of the U.S.Army with the rank of . private first class. He was born in Mount Joy, a son of the late Samuel F. and Minerva Fisher Eshleman. Surviving in addition to “his wife, are two sisters, Blanche F. wife of the Rev. N.S. Hoffman, Elizabeth- town, and Charlotte F., wife of Russell Myers, Jenkintown.
