April 11, 1979 American Legion Egg Roll The W.S. Ebersole Post 185, American Legion, will sponsor an [Easter Egg Roll on Saturday, April 14th, at the Post Home grounds. Events will be. held for age groups 0-3, 4-6, 7-10, and 10-12 years. It will be held rain or shine at 2:00 PM on the 14th. There are prizes galore and in case of bad weather prizes will be awarded according to ticket number. Tickets will be given at the door. East Donegal Jaycees egg hunt The East Donegal Jay- cees will sponsor an egg hunt on Saturday, April 14th, at Legion Building in Maytown, starting at 10:00 AM. The hunt is open to kids in grade 3 and under. ‘“Rockathon’ for Bobby Gooding Rose Derr *Nitwits”’ A ‘‘Rockathon’’ was held from 6 p.m. last Friday until 6 p.m., Saturday to raise necessary medical funds for Bobby Gooding, S, who is suffering from congenital heart disease. The Rockathon took place at English United Presby- terian Church, Marietta. ‘‘Gophers,’”” who kept the chairs rocking when participants had to take time off were: Lin Winters, Edie Baublitz, Ruth Det- tinger, Edna Huck, Anna Ressler, Harry Ressler, Jo Aument, Muriel Welsh, Pat Backus, Bill Livesberger, Judy Aldinger. The series is co-sponsored by E-town College’s Center for Community Education and Donegal Mills Planta- tion. The sessions will contin- ue through May 24th. Classes will be offered in antiques, fraktur, spinning, pottery, bandboxes, theo- rem painting, macrame, gardening, etc. Duane Musser Last week Donegal High student Duane Musser was presented with the Hugh O’Brien Certificate of Re- cognition for being the Outstanding Sophomore in the school. Duane is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald C. Musser of 350 South Delta Street, Mount Joy. The award was presented by John D. Day, DHS guidance counselor, who told the Times, ‘‘He is just as nice as his parents were when they were in school.” Mr. Day knew :Duanc’s parents as students. Mrs. Musser is the former Carole West. Duane is active in wrestling, soccer, and student government at DHS. He is president of the sophomore class. Outside school, Duane enjoys fishing, summer wrestling, and working with the St. Mark’s United Methodist Church youth group, of which he is the treasurer. He plans to attend college and study education or business. A good student, he is on the honor roll most of the time.
