Kelly Andrews marries
Melvin Shearer
Kelly Andrews and Mel-
vin Eugene Shearer were
united in marriage on Sat-
urday, April 7th, at 10:30
AM by the Rev. Richard
Miller in the Congregation-
al Bible Church of Mari-
etta. It was a double ring
ceremony.
The bride wore a gown
of organza over taffeta
featuring a Queen Anne
neckline and capelet
sleeves. A white satin
ribbon encircled her empire
waist. The full skirt was
trimmed with lace and
ended in a Chapel train.
Her walking length mantil-
la of English illusion and
venise lace motif was
attached to a band of lace.
She carried a bouquet of
yellow daisies, sweetheart
roses and baby’s breath.
Miss Shirley Shearer of
Mount Joy, the groom's
sister, was the maid of
honor. Bridesmaids were
Miss Jerri Collier of
Marietta and Mrs. Doris
Ebersole of - Manheim,
sister of the groom. Miss
Rebecca Moilanen of Mari-
etta was the flower girl.
Jay Shatz of Mount Joy
was the best man. Ushers
were Steven Andrews of
Marietta, brother of the
bride, and Norman Eber-
sole of Manheim. David
Earl Luttman of Marietta
was the ring bearer.
Mrs. Marion Gerber was
the organist. The reception
was held in the church’s
fellowship hall.
The bride is the daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Robert E.
Luttman of 39 Porter
Street; Marietta. She is a
graduate of Donegal High
School. She is employed by
Donegal Industries.
Mr. Shearer is the son of
Mr. and Mrs. J. Allen
Shearer of Lefever Road,
Mount Joy RD3. He
attended Donegal High
School and is employed by
Wissahickon Spring Water,
Inc.
The couple will reside in
Mount Joy.

Esther H. Kettering of
Lancaster, a teacher at
Seiler Elementary School in
Mount Joy, will be married
to Kenneth I. Hartman of
Chicago, Illinois, on April
15th in the Lancaster
Church of the Brethren at
the 10:30 service.
The couple will reside at

your agent or broker to
increase your ‘‘deducti-
ble.’
Your deductible is simply
an amount you agree to
pay before your insurance
company takes over in case
of a loss. If you have a
$100 deductible and you
have a $369 insured loss,
‘you pay the first $100 and
your insurer pays the other
$269.
By increasing your de-
ductible, you'll assume the
responsibility for a greater
share of any loss. BUT,
you'll also pay less for your
coverage. A $250 deduct-
ible costs about 10 percent
less than a $100 deductible.
A change from a $100 to a
$500 deductible will result
in a saving of about 20
percent.
Insurers introduced the
deductible many years ago
as a means of precluding
millions of small claims
which would be almost as
expensive to process as the
large ones. The idea is to
