The passion story accord- ing to the Gospel of Mark will provide the setting for the Office of Tenebrae’ Members of the Chancel Choir will assume the characters of the passion story as well as read several of the passages chorically. The anthem “Lighten Our Darkness’ by Robert Leaf will be intertwined in the passion narrative as the sanctuary Shellenberger honored for 50 years’ service Rev. Robert T. Shellen- berger, a native of Mariet- ta, was recently honored for SO years of dedication to the Episcopal Church. Now a resident of Kings- ton, N.Y., Rev. Shellen- berger, observed his S0 years as a priest with a jubilee mass. Although retired for 6 years, he has remained active in the church and was made Rector Emeritus. When a choir boy at St. John’s Episcopal Church, Marietta, the honored ‘““Padre’’ never dreamed of being a priest. He dreamed about the law and just about every other career, except the priesthood. After graduating from Marietta High School he worked for the Post Office, where he found people searching—groping for something they weren’t getting from life—it was then he noticed something about people that would change their lives: religion. On June 8, 1928, the 28 year-old Shellenberger was ordained a .deacon by Bishop Darlington, Diocese of Harrisburg. Six months later, December 19, he was ordained a priest by the Bishop.
