Spring Bazaar
Joycee-ettes will sell hand-made items
The Mt. Joy Joycee-ettes
will be having a Spring
Bazaar in the Fellowship
Hall at the St. Mark’s
United Methodist Church,
Main Street, Mt. Joy, on
Saturday, March 24 from 9
am to 3 pm.
Many hand-made items,
which the Joycee-ettes
have been busy making,
will be for sale to complete
your shopping list. For the
‘“‘kiddies’’ there will be a
*“Children’s Corner)’ and
an Easter Egg Grab Bag.
Chances are now on sale
for a set of Raggedy Ann
and Andy dolls (36 inches
high). Tickets are available
from any Joycee-ette mem-
bers.
Lunch will be available.
The menu will be a
barbeque sandwich, chips,
pickles and drink. For your
sweet tooth there will be a
bake stand with home-
made goodies.
Chairman for the bazaar
is Mrs. Cindy Stoner.
Chairman for the food &
bake sale is Mrs. Sue
Thomas.

1st aid course in Marietta
A standard multi-media
first aid course will , be
offered to the public on
April 18th and 19th.
Applications are being
accepted now.
The course includes 20
film segments, 17 practice
sessions, and 13 workbook
lessons. If you take thé
course, you will learn how

artificial respiration, poi-
soning, burns, heat stroke,
hypothermia, fainting, ob-
jects in the eye, throat and
larynx, and how to rescue
and transfer victims of

sessions and passing the

Cross certificate.
Anyone ‘who has com-
pleted 7th grade or is over
13 years old can take the
course.
The instructor will be

W. Market Street, Mari-
etta, a certified instructor
and training officer of the
Marietta Area Ambulance
Association.
Since a certain number
of people must be taught at
once, the course will be
held only if enough people
sign up.

Band Parents
to hold
scrap drive
A scrap paper drive will
be held by the Donegal
Band Parents Club on
Saturday, March 17th,
between 8 and 10 AM.
Anyone with extra paper
may take it to the
Maytown, Riverview, or
Donegal High, or the
elementary schools at that
time.

Fashion Show
The Mount Joy Charter’
Chapter of the ABWA
(American Business
Women’s Association) will
host a fashion show at its
next regularly scheduled
meeting to be held on
Tuesday, March 27, 1979.
The fashion show will
feature Queensway Fash-
ions and will be held at the
Sheraton-Conestoga, Ore-
gon Pike, Lancaster, at
6:30 PM.
At its February meeting,
Citizenship Month was
celebrated with guest
speaker Joyce Shenk from
the Lancaster Charter
Chapter. She recited two
poems which were America
for Men and Johnny
Appleseed. Vocational
speaker for the evening
was Mary Ann Strickler
who is employed by Dutch-
man Hereford Lauxmont
Farms.
The upcoming Boss and
Business Associate Night
which is scheduled for the
April meeting to held on
Tuesday, April 23rd, was
also discussed. This meet-
ing-will be held at Lacy’s
Lounge in Marietta.
The Education Commit-
tee recommended two
candidates to be awarded a
scholarship of $500 each,
and this action was
approved.
