Students Honor Riverview Cafeteria } Workers

The cafeteria workers at Riverview Elementary School
in Marietta were honored last week by the students of
reading. teachers Mrs. Elizabeth Smedley and Mrs.
Carol Lambert. The kids gave them corsages and even
a poem thanking them for being nice and giving them
delicious food. The poem was written by Lori Barton.
In the photo above, the cafeteria ladies, standing in
the rear, are [l.-r.] Mrs. Stoner, Mrs. Huck, Mrs.
Gable, Mrs. Fox, Mrs. Radle, and Mrs. McConnell.
The kids are Todd Roberts, Tracy McKain, Sylvia
Henny, and Corinna Ebersole. Kneeling in front and
holding the poem is Becky Bensinger.

Cast Announced for
“Let’s Go To
The Moon’
The cast has been
announced for the first
children’s show of the 1979
Columbia Little Theater
season.
The show is a childrens
fantasy play entitled ‘‘Let’s
Go To The Moon.” The
play will be presented
March 9 and 10 at the
Columbia High School
auditorium, Columbia.
Shows will be at 7:30 PM
on Friday; 1:30 and 7:30
PM on Saturday.
The story is about a
small boys dream of taking
a space ship ride to the
moon. While on the moon
he encounters a number of
zany fairytail characters.
The play will feature many
theatrical special effects
designed to stimulate one’s
imagination. These effects
will be intermingled with
dance, song, sound and
illusions.
Scott Demmy
The cast will be headed
by Scott Demmy, Marietta,
who plays Bill Jones, the
small lad with the big
imagination. Other cast
members include: Tina
Haug, Colleen Barr, Mic
Reidy, Louise White, Eric
White, Mary Loreto, Beth
Showalter, Pat Zercher,
Tammy White, Bev Yost,
and Sheri Clark. The
production is under the
direction of Duane Peters.
Heart Association
asking for contributions
Heart Association volun-
teers are now calling on
Lancaster County citizens
for contributions to the
1979 Heart campaign. This
year’s goal is $118,700.
Circulatory diseases af-
fect 40 million Americans,
cause one of every two
+
deaths, and cost $3 billion
a year in lost work and
medical expenses,
Lancaster County is
above the average heart-
and circulatory-death rate.
56% of all deaths here are
caused by it, as opposed to
a 52% national average, . .. ..
