Showdown for girls
| Boys, in tie for 1st, face tough contests
but they handed the Black
Hopes for a section
championship for the Don-
egal girls’ basketball team
will ride largely on the
outcome of a contest with
Hempfield slated for Thurs-
day, Feb. 1, at DHS.
At the moment, Hemp-
field holds a one-game
advantage over the Done-
gal girls. (The Indians have
lost twice to Penn Manor,
Knights’ only defeat to
Hempfield. Hempfield, in
turn, has beaten Penn
Manor).
A win on Thurday will
restore the Indians to a tie
for 1st place.
The boys’ team, mean-
while, is facing a tough
week. As we go to press,
they are facing traditional
rival E-town. On Friday,
Lebanon Catholic travels to
Donegal, and next Friday,
in the last game of the
season, a tough Annville-
Cleona team will try to
spoil Donegal’s season in
the closing game. j
If the Indians survive
those games, they will still
face a playoff with Garden
Spot for the section
championship.
