New trash pick-up policy in Mount Joy
Beginning on January
1st, Mount Joy Borough
will have a new procedure
for special trash pickups for
residential customers.
The second Friday of
each month will be special
trash pickup day, when
customers may put out
East Donegal Jaycees party for kids
The newly-reorganized
East Donegal Jaycees held
a party for local kids last
Saturday morning. The
Susquehanna Times had
mistakenly printed in last
week’s paper that the event
was to be sponsored by the
items that are too heavy,
bulky, or otherwise unsuit-
able for regular pickup.
There will not be any
charge for reasonable
amounts of trash; anything
over one dump truck load
will cost.
This special monthly pick

toons, had refreshments,
and talked with Santa
Claus.
Among those who work-
ed on the project were
up replaces the annual
spring cleanup and the
special pickups by request.
All items must be placed at
the curb or on the edge of
the street. The borough
crew will not enter private
property to make pickups.

A SPECIAL NOTICE
We're pleased to report the continuing reduction of the Federal Excise Tax levy
on your monthly bill for telephone service.
The effective tax rate is to be lowered from 4 per cent to 3 per cent on bills for
telephone service rendered on or after January 1, 1979.
Additional rate reductions are scheduled to become effective each year until
1982. At that time the Federal Excise Tax on telephone service, first levied at a rate
of 10 per cent as an ‘‘emergency measure’ during World War II, will be
eliminated.
