"a ¢ BEE EE EP PE EE EE LE EE EEE EE a November 29, 1978 Maytown/East Donegal Ambulance meeting The monthly meeting of the Maytown-East Donegal Area Ambulance Asso. was recently held at the May- town Fire Hall. Crew Chief Jack Doutrich reported 20 calls for the month of October. There were 4 emergency responses, 12 routine transports, and 4 standby calls. The Asso- ciation’s 1973 Maxi-Van was put into service Oct. 19th. Crew Chief Doutrich has organized Ambulance Duty Crews and appointed Debbie Smeal as Day Duty Officer and Larry Warfel as Duty Officer. for the 2nd crew operating at night. All crew members are to schedule duty times with either the Crew Chief or the Duty Officer. Members present dis- cussed and approved run- ning rules and regulations for all members of the Ambulance Association. Nominations for officers for 1979 were presented. Voting will be at the December 14th meeting. All members are urged to be present. Members unable to attend the meet- ing can obtain an absentee ballot by contacting the secretary, C. Shaffner (426- 2714) or President J. Doutrich (426-1655). Bernell Heisey was reelected president of the Mount Joy Area Historical Society at its meeting on Monday, November 21st, at the Society building on Fairview Street. Other officers reelected were: Lester A. Brenneman, vice president; Mrs. Paul Gingrich, secretary; 0.K. Snyder, treasurer; Robert Shank, membership chairman. Mrs. John Crider, Robert Eshleman, Jr., and Alvin Koser were elected as trustees for two years. A covered dish supper preceded the business meeting. Mrs. Wilbur Bru- baker was in charge of arrangements. President Heisey report- ed on the success of the Chicken Barbeque and thanked everyone who helped on this project. An American flag that had flown over the nation’s Capitol on October 13, Historical Society meeting 1978, was presented to the Society by William Barto. Seventeen new members were welcomed into the Society. The Society will be manning a refreshment area at the household sale of Luella Witmer on De- cember 9th. Mrs. Hettie Ginder and Dorothy Gantz are co-chairwomen of this project. Mrs. Thomas Cox report- ed on the suggested bus trips and also asked for information concerning the original AME Church that is now the Society’s head- quarters. Old-time movies of the late 30's and early 40’s were shown by Joe Shaeffer. The newly-elected offi- cers will be installed at the January meeting. Anyone desiring to join the Society is welcome to contact any member or the membership chairman, Robert Shank.
