Vocational speaker for the evening was Melva Ebersole who is a realtor associate and office man- ager for Martin Realty. Two items which had been donated were raffled off. One, a hand crocheted shawl donated by Ruth Wenditz, was won by Melva Ebersole and the other was candy donated by Janice Shelly which was won by Naomi Metzler. The bake and craft sale to be held on Friday, November 10, 1978, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM was announced. The Hand of Friendship Award was presented to Carol Wenditz. This is awarded for sponsoring two or more new members to the organization. There was a discussion concerning the regional meeting of ABWA which will be held in June 1979 at Hershey. The Mount Joy Chapter voted to co- sponsor a hospitality room during this conference. The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 28, 1978, at the Sherwood Knoll, Centerville Rd., Lancaster, at 6:30 PM. This meeting will be an orientation meeting with all officers and chairpersons explaining about their dif- ferent positions in ABWA. Vocational speaker for the evening will be Carol Wenditz. Joycee-ettes see film The Mount Joy Joycee- ettes held their monthly meeting October 17th at St. Mark's church. After President Kathy Bower called the meeting to order, the club wel- comed Sandy Spayd as a new member. Co-chairman Bev Swan- son reported that the Fashion Show Luncheon was a big success and was enjoyed by all who attend- ed. Other projects now under way include the making of Baler twine wreaths, mak- ing baby bonnets, Santa Breakfast, and the Creative Craft Day-Bazaar. A bus trip to the Reading outlets is planned for October and Joanne Nolt has planned a craft night for making macrame door hangings. Following the Joycee-ette business meeting, the Welcome Wagon was invit- ed to watch a film shown by Dr. Kipp from Norlanco Health Center on jogging. After the film and a short discussion from Dr. Kipp, who is an avid jogger, a question and answer ses- sion was held. Both clubs then socializ- ed and shared some of their ideas with each other. Energy exposition Products designed to save energy by reducing electrical consumption will be exhibited at PP&L’s 1978 Industrial and Com- mercial Energy Conference and Exposition. It will be held November 14 and 135 at the Penn Harris Motor Inn, Harrisburg. S50 companies will have displays there, and several guests will speak, including Jules Bergman, science editor at ABC-TV.
