Mariettians star in The Lion Who Wouldn't On Friday, November 3, at 7:30 PM and Saturday, November 4, at 1:30 PM and 7:30 PM, the Columbia Little Theatre will unveil its first children’s production, THE LION WHO WOULD- N’T. As this enchanting musical by Gifford W. Wingate with music by Allan Jay Friedman un- folds, it becomes quite clear that this Lion is no ordinary circus lion. He reads too much, eats too much, and has too lively an imagination for his own good. This Lion wants to be everything other lions aren’t - a baseball pitcher, a teacher, a sea captain, a detective, and an actor. The children who come to see the circus help the Lion to see that he really isn’t suited for any of those occupations. The Lion's trainer, whom he refers to as- his ‘‘attendant,”” pa- tiently awaits the Lion to realize that being the star of the Big Top isn’t so bad after all. The role of the Lion has been taken by Louise White, who was recently PLAY FOOD TOY SET Feels and looks like real food. Designed for ages 3 and up.
