Mount Joy history
The old Acme market
The adjoining pictures
show a site on Main Street,
Mount Joy, where until
1967 Acme Markets stood
and where now the Mount
Joy Borough Offices stand.
The pictures are from a
new calendar for 1979
issued by the Mount Joy
Area Historical Society.
Copies of the new calen-
dar can be purchased from
members of the Historical
Society or at the office of
0.K. Snyder Insurance on
Main Street.

The photograph of the
Acme Markets was taken
by Ralph Snyder, who took
many other photographs of
old Mount Joy which are
included in the calendar.
Mr. Snyder, a restorer of
old autos, has over the
years taken many photo-
graphs of old buildings in
Mount Joy, just before they
were pulled down. In this
way, he has compiled an
album of old Mount Joy
that is on record nowhere
else.
October is Get-A-Mem-
ber Month for the Mount
Joy Area Historical Society.
While going after new
members, the Society is
