speaker last Tuesday at the
September 26th meeting of
the Rotary club.

Isles, he focused on Scot-
land, where he spent some
time as a boy, and where
he later attended school.

Scotland’s rural areas, and
illustrated his talk with
pictures of his mother, the
schools, the churches, and
the country-side.
Mount Joy Rotarians will
observe their annual Farm-
er’s Day on Tuesday,
October 17, with members
inviting their farmer
friends from the local area
to attend the luncheon
meeting at Hostetter’s.

ing of the 1978-79 year on
September 20 at 6:30 PM
in the Undercroft.
the speaker for the
evening was the Rev.
Catherine Welton who re-
cently returned from Japan
where she helped to estab-
lish a Christian Education
Program. Rev. Welton
showed some slides, fam-
iliar American products
with Japanese labels, and
many other articles from
Japan.
The officers for the
1978-79 year are President-
Barbara Banks, Vice-Pres-
ident-Kim Mcllhenny, Sec-
retary- Paddy Schatz, and
Treasurer-Helen McClurg.
Plans are now being
formed for the annual
Christmas Bazaar, the
Strawberry Festival, and
other programs of the
Church Women.

show and card party in the -
Holy Trinity Auditorium
September 27, 1978. Fash-
ions were featured by
Heinemans and The Town
Shoppe, both of Columbia.
Heinemans featured
Ladies Sportswear, Ladies
dresses and a group of
Boys and Girls Sportswear,
Outerwear and dresses.
The Town Shoppe
featured many dressy, con-
temporary and after five
dress fashions.
A very large crowd was
in attendance. Mrs. Marg-
aret Nikolas and Mrs.
Karen Sahd were Co-chair-
women for the event. Mrs.
Jean Bourne was ‘the
