Chapter president Janice Shelly presided. The meeting was held at Mr. Lacy’s Lounge in Marietta, starting with cocktails at 6:30. Dinner and the meeting followed at 8:00 PM. The presiding officers of the newly form- ed chapter were: Janice Shelly, President; Betty Herr, Vice-President; Jan Groff, Recording Secretary; Mary Ann Strickler, Corre- sponding Secretary; and 8% Marjorie Hartman, Trea- surer. Honored at the head = table were Mrs. Jane Deibler, President of the Wheatland Chapter, and Mrs. Suzanne Moore, chairman of TEE Comm- ittee, sponsors who were responsible for organ- izing this new chapter. The Vocational speaker for the evening was Sandy ~ Yocum, Program Chair- "= man. Three Charter members, those absent from the Installation Ceremony on The Marietta Restoration Associates has announced they will be giving away (to Marietta residents only) usable lumber on Saturday, August 12, 1978 at the Union Meeting House, Waterford Ave., marietta. The lumber consists mainly of 2 x 4’s and 2 x 6's which were used to construct June 27, were introduced to the membership and asked to sign the chapter’s Charter. The minutes from the brief organizatonal meeting held on Installation night; the Treasurer’s report; and the minutes from the joint meeting of the Executive Board and committee chairmen held at Janice Shelly’s on July 22nd, were read. Each chairman reported on the progress of her respective committee, with the Ways & Means chair- man, Marlene Barnhart, presenting the first money raising project to the membership for approval. A special committee for our Fall Enrollment Event has been formed with Carol Wenditz as chairman. You will be hearing more about this event soon. The first Hand of Friend- ship Award for the chapter was awarded to Marlene Barnhart, for sponsoring twc new members. Following the business portion of the meeting, a candlelight installation ceremony was held for two members, Cynthia Slaugh and Deborah Merroth. The Executive Board will ~ Free lumber! Sunday class rooms. The rooms were removed dur- ing phase I of the restora- tion of that building. Most of the lumber contains nails but can be used for rough construction or fire wood. It can be picked up between 10 AM and 12 noon. Items lost at Maytown Playground Towels, clothing, and other things were left at the Maytown playground over the course of the summer. If you lost any- thing, you can pick it up at the home of Judy Mec- Donald, 10 South River St., Maytown. Her number is 426-1617. Mount Joy men on dean’s list Two Mount Joy men were on the dean’s list for the spring term at Penn State’s University Park campus. They are: Newton Kendig, of 62 E. Main Street, with a perfect 4.00 term average; and John Weidman, 240 S. Market St., with a 3.50. Maytown meetings The Maytown/East Don- egal Ambulance Associa- tion will meet on Thursday, August 10, at 7:00 PM in the Maytown Fire Hall.
