Sunday a la carte
by Chester Wittell
On this fair Sunday in the month of June
When citizens go forth in crowds to dine,
I hie me to the restaurant at noon,
Hang up my hat and coat and stand in line.
An interval of waiting intervenes,
And when I’ve had about enough of it
A hostess, young and radiant in her ‘‘teens,”’
Comes forth to greet and tell me where to sit.
I give the girl my order; look around
And gaze in wonder at the curious scene,
where scads of femininity abound,
Clad stylishly in yellow, blue, and green;
And pondering while o’er the menu looking,
I see why home has given up home cooking.
ning, August 25th. Prac-
tices for the contest will
begin. at 6:30 PM every
Monday and Wednesday
evening in August on the
Wilbur I. Beahm field. All
Donegal Soccer Alumni
players are invited to
participate.
