We still got third place.” Candy’s partner during dance routines is Randy Cramer, the son of Candy’s skating coach, Florence Cramer. Although the team of Randy and Candy has not been as spectacularly successful as Candy’s solo figure skating act, Candy hopes to keep Randy as a dance partner. ‘‘If we don’t start fighting,”” she says, ““hopefully we can stay together. Sometimes we get in fights and try to knock each other down. What Randy really likes to do is race. All the boys want to do is race, race, race. . 1 think that’s yecchy.’’ During the cooler sea- sons of the year, Candy enjoys her long hours at the rink, although she admits that her favorite part of practice is ‘‘carry- ing on and fooling around, but then we get yelled at.” During the summer, how- ever, Candy would rather go swimming. (She is not allowed to swim before practices, because of the imbalancing effect swim- ming would have on her muscles, so she doesn’t get to spend much time at the pool. After the national cham- pionship contest on the 30th, she’ll be able to relax and get wet more often. **That’ll be neat,’’ she says. There are a total of 39 medals and trophies on the Flowers’ living room wall. Only twenty-nine of those were won by Candy. Her sister, Tammy (age 6), accounted for the other ten. Marietta is already the home of America’s top roller skaters, and Tammy plans to carry on the championship tradition her big sister has begun. Groff & White discuss CPA responsibilities Charles 0.
