June 14, 1978 Myr. and Mrs. Rainbolt SUSQUEHANNA TIMES — Page 11 celebrate 40th anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Richard Rainbolt, S07 Donegal Springs Road, Mount Joy, recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. They were married June 11, 1938, in Bloomington, Indiana. Mr. and Mrs. Rainbolt were guests of honor at a dinner party given by their daughters, and their fami- lies, at the Mansion House, Lebanon, PA. Also in attendance were Mr. and Mrs. B.R. Taylor, Nashville, Indiana. Mrs. Taylor is the sister of Mr. Rainbolt. The Rainbolts were residents of the state of Indiana until 1956. At that time they moved to Mount Joy and purchased the Mount Joy Bulletin. Mr. Rainbolt owned and published the Bulletin until 197s. The Rainbolts have three daughters: Nancy, wife of Gene Newcomer, Mount Joy; Martha, wife of Rev. Gary Epler, Annville; and Elizabeth, wife of Rev. Robert Kettering, Mount Joy. The couple have six grandchildren. Obituaries ROY E. BILLETT Roy E. Billett, 84, of 1415 Dartmouth Read, York, died Wednesday at12:05 AM at Memorial Osteopathic Hospital, York, after a lengthy illness. He was the husband of the late Elizabeth M. Orendorff Billett. He was a loom fixer in the York area before his retirement. He was of the Methodist faith. Born in East Donegal Township, Lancaster Coun- ty, he was a son of the late William H. and Ida L. Donley Billett. He is survived by a son, William H. Billett, Sr., York; a daughter, Berna- dine Morris, York; two grandchildren; five great- grandchildren, and a bro- ther, the Rev. Grant T. Billett, also of York. B.H. HORST SR. Benjamin H. Horst, Sr., 83, of 159 Manheim St., Mount Joy, died early this morning at Lancaster General Hospital, where he had been a patient for eight days. Horst was the husband of the late Martha Jane Shaeffer Horst. Before his retirement in 1969, Horst was employed with the Grey Iron Casting Co., Mount Joy. Prior to that, he was a molder for 32 years at the Florin Foundry. Horst was a member of Trinity Evangelical Con- gregational Church in Mount Joy and was a life member of the Mount Joy Friendship Fire Company and the Mount Joy Sportsmen’s Association. Born in Milton Grove, he was the son of the late Martin .and Emma Shearer Horst. Horst is survived by five children; Arline R., wife of Walter Stipe, Highspire; Beota M., wife of John Wilt, Middletown; Gerald- ine M. Kirchoff, Manheim R1; Velma J., wife of Paul Mackredis, Lancaster; and Benjamin H. Horst, Jr., Mount Joy; 17 grandchil- dren, 24 great-grandchil- dren and a sister, Louisa Sites, Pleasant View Rest Home, Manheim RS. PETER McGARVEY Peter A. McGarvey, 73, of 720 W. Main St., Mount Joy, died Saturday after- noon at his home. He was the husband of Bertha Walters McGarvey. He was a retired service station attendant. He had owned and operated a painting and paperhanging business in Manheim until 1963. McGarvey was a member of Hope Bible Church, Fredericksburg, where he was superintendent of the Sunday School. . .. .. Chiques League The Chiques Adult Ath- letic Association opened its first summer volleyball league season last Wednes- day night at Memorial Park in Marietta. The first match of the evening was won by the Sixers over the Set-ups in a tough three games: 4-15, 15-12, 15-13. In the second match, the Rookies defeated the Kings and Queens 16-14 and 15-10. Next Wednesday the Sixers will take on the Rookies at 6:00 PM, and the Set-ups will battle the Kings and Queens at 7:00.
